Political Observation

If you're like most Americans, you will approve of one of these, and despise the other. Everyone may not agree on which of the two is good and which is bad, but chances are you like only one, and not the other. If you like both, or dislike both, you are in the minority; as most will like only one and not the other. If both were suddenly gone and forgotten, there would probably be more unity in the United States. Are you curious yet? One is Trump and the other is Black Lives Matter. If something about this observation has made you feel upset or angry, that only reinforces its validity.

Stealing from the Elderly

In a conversation with my elderly mother, she mentioned that when her car was being serviced, that half of the coins in the console were missing when it was returned. She also commented, that she would never say anything because she wouldn't want someone to lose their job. Herein, lies the difference between the elderly and those people who would prey upon them.

Make America Think Again

People believe what they're told by the left or the right; whichever side they think they're supposed to support. I can't understand how anyone can support either side on every issue. Sometimes the left is right, sometimes the right is right. Sometimes neither one is correct. Americans are afraid to think for themselves. They require group backing. Independent thinking is hard to find--and harder for the brainwashed to accept.

Teachers Starting 2020-2021 School Year

My wife is a teacher, and this year, teachers are being asked to teach virtual classes, and also in person classes, and follow even more new safety protocols than before, while wearing a mask, making sure students and families are treated fairly, while juggling technology and riding a unicycle that's on fire. If you think they aren't doing enough, then by all means, get up off your butt and show us all how it's done.

COVID-19 and Sunshine

If ultraviolet light kills viruses, wouldn't a few minutes in the Sun every day be good for everyone? I mean so long as you are limiting the time so you are not getting burned. It may not eliminate covid-19, but wouldn't it possibly help?

What I Learned about Business During the Pandemic

The pandemic taught us much about business practices. For instance, how best to cut staff to save money and preserve the important people. From what I observed, cutting the people who make the least amount of money nets the most savings. These are the people who do the work; and so are less important. The top administrators should all be kept; because they talk about doing work; and so are more important. They may also be who decides who gets laid off. If you have for example, one director and four deputy directors, all should be kept--even if half the workforce is cut. Another rule of thumb is, (another example), if you have a work unit of 13, consisting of 2 supervisors and 11 workers, cut 7 of the workers and keep the 2 supervisors for the remaining 4 workers. This will ensure to maximize meetings, while making the remaining employees work harder. This is truly the best plan during difficult economic times.

Sometimes It's Plain to See

I've noticed a common theme in literature and stories that crosses most all cultures. It is one of the beautiful and virtuous girl who meets the handsome, strong, moral, wealthy young man; possibly a prince. The combination of beauty and wealth, seems to be the perfect match and what everyone strives for. However, in real life, this is not necessarily the case. Beauty, strength, and moral character are not attributes that are purely of the elite. In fact, they may be more likely to come from the common people. And even though wealth can buy power, it cannot create in one, intelligence or moral character. Furthermore, it cannot buy happiness or contentment. Wealth cannot buy true friendship. Wealth cannot buy true love. Wealth cannot buy you honor. And being born wealthy cannot teach you what it is like to succeed by hard work. And so I am proud to be of humble roots. As difficult as it sometimes is, I am happy to have had to struggle at times. Because sometimes it's plain to see, that the guy at the top is just a dipstick.

Spaghetti and Meat and Vegetable Sauce

For my for my old friends in Providence, no I did not make the sauce. But I did add 17 vegetables and herbs to make it better than it was.

Agree to Disagree

Many of us have watched Donald Trump become incensed by people who disagree with him. Many liberals have pointed this out. What many of them have failed to notice, however, is that they often exhibit the same trait.

Many years ago, I was a supervisor. While no one likes it when someone disagrees with them constantly, I found it equally annoying when someone agreed with everything no matter what! You will never get any new ideas from those people who just want to agree and be accepted.

In the Middle and Not Broken

I like being in the middle. I like making up my own mind based on what I see, hear and experience. Don't waste too much time telling me what I should think. It's not in my nature to be led. If you see only one viewpoint and one answer, I might see ten. It's really OK, I'm not broken.

2020 Election Politics

While I honestly believe that the Democratic Party is causing serious social problems with an unrealistic far-left agenda, I have to admit that when I look at the Democratic politicians and candidates, they are far more representative in their diversity, of my own neighborhood, than are the Republican politicians and candidates who seem to be rather white bread. As I tend to immerse myself in both sides in an attempt to find the truth, I can see that Donald Trump still has a following; in spite of an almost complete lack of compassion and truthfulness. We obviously need a change at the top. And when that happens, I hope some focus moves to all of the children who are being hurt or killed and all of the gun violence that is not being caused by law enforcement. There is still the need for people to be responsible for their own actions; regardless of their race, sex religion or economic status.

U.S. Looks to Space for Intelligence

U.S. Looks to Space for Intelligence

The US Space Force is on a mission to find intelligent life in outer space! Presumably because it is so hard to find on Earth.

In other news, a transporter malfunction aboard the Starship Enterprise, caused Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump to become blended into a single, perfect political candidate! Unfortunately the two sides were unable to agree when to breathe, and nearly suffocated before Chief Engineer, Montgomery Scott was able to reverse the process and recreate two, separate, illogical and ineffectual leaders.

Tip Required for Picking Up Takeout?

Are we supposed to tip for takeout food now? Olive Garden and Red Lobster do the full court press to get a tip; even if you already paid online. If we need to pay an extra 15% for drive through service, it's another reason to stop ordering out.

Racial Harmony

For those of us living in multiracial, multicultural families, it is a personal lifestyle, rather than a political policy. I believe that focusing on the positive is how to perpetuate those feelings and ideals. Concentrating on negative ideas may be popular, but it is not as likely to create peace and harmony. Sometimes it also means choosing that positive mindset.

More Backlash in Minneapolis

Kudos to the Minneapolis city council. After putting up with riots, businesses unhappy with the idea to defund Minneapolis Police are planning to leave downtown. I can't say that I blame them much. All the pressure on police conduct has not reduced crime.

And so, this is why I can't follow the left all the way to the left. Once you get too far to the right or the left, you enter the territory of stupid. Any gains made, are soon ruined by not knowing when to stop.
