Of course, my observations about how much more things are costing me, are much ado about nothing when you consider that Ukrainian civilians have been tortured and shot with their hands tied behind their backs by invading Russian soldiers.

I've noticed a common theme in literature and stories that crosses most all cultures. It is one of the beautiful and virtuous girl who meets the handsome, strong, moral, wealthy young man; possibly a prince. The combination of beauty and wealth, seems to be the perfect match and what everyone strives for. However, in real life, this is not necessarily the case. Beauty, strength, and moral character are not attributes that are purely of the elite. In fact, they may be more likely to come from the common people. And even though wealth can buy power, it cannot create in one, intelligence or moral character. Furthermore, it cannot buy happiness or contentment. Wealth cannot buy true friendship. Wealth cannot buy true love. Wealth cannot buy you honor. And being born wealthy cannot teach you what it is like to succeed by hard work. And so I am proud to be of humble roots. So many things remind me of the show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Because it seems that so often everything is made up and the points don't matter.

There is a Speed Trap at Maryland Avenue and 35E in St. Paul , Minnesota. As shown in my photo, this is a major road and should be at least 35 MPH. Yet behind that jumble of tree branches on the right, there is a sign that says 30 MPH. As multiple police squads will wait here to trap motorists (instead of fighting real crime), clearly this is a way for St. Paul to rape the public and collect $126 fines in excess. Having driven this section a lot and also knowing someone who recently got a ticket here (for driving 35 MPH in a 30 MPH), contested it (using this and other photos) and lost, I will tell you this stretch of road is a hazard to your bank account and St. Paul should cease such unethical practices.

In 2003, I left Hennepin County as an Office Specialist III on an early retirement buyout incentive. They were trying to reduce staff. The documents I signed said I could not return as an OSIII; though other positions would be open to me. Now in 2014, I applied for a job at Hennepin County as a Communications Coordinator. I was told that I was not eligible due to the early retirement buyout. I informed the HR rep that this was incorrect and she later emailed me that I was right and all jobs except OSIII were open to me. Shortly after, another email (with the you are correct part now gone) said they had changed the rules and I was now not eligible for employment due to the buyout. I asked for, but they could not supply anything I signed agreeing to this (because such a document does not exist). Later, they were able to supply a contract that actually supported my position.
