This principle is rooted in the military oath of enlistment, which binds personnel to support and defend the U.S. Constitution, not any individual leader. I was reading a little bit from the Epstein files archive on the internet. There's some fairly damning stuff in there and apparently there is more that is not in there. I think Donald Trump has crossed over that line where he no longer thinks it matters what he did or didn't do, or if it was legal or not. He may have a point because so far, it hasn't seemed to matter much whether he violates the law or not.
