"Grayson's Choice of Adventures"

My son wouldn't let me off-the-hook again this year. When I asked what he wanted for his birthday and Christmas, it was the same answer, "a book written by dad." Amazon requires a minimum of 78 pages, and Barnes and Noble has really difficult formatting... but I cranked one out. It's a choose your own adventure. You can find it at the link below—but don't tell Grayson about it until after Christmas! https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/graysons-choice-of-adventures-kevin-curtis/1148826696 Here are my other book locations... Presents Are Not Important

Flag Football Game

He was wearing his grandpa's yellow Vikings hat in today's game.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day. This year is my first one without my dad. However, I do have a son, and a wife, and my mom... and I am most fortunate. Father's Day is a good time to remember that more important than being a father, is being a good dad. A dad is there for his kids when they need him, and even when they don't. He's ready to help, and spend time, and teach, and even intervene before things go wrong. It's a big responsibility. The fathers who put their families first, are setting an example for future generations, and they have my admiration.

When Small Things are Big

The end of the schoolyear has been stressful for teachers--especially with READ Act. My (art teacher) wife has been studying and testing... So, today when a kindergartener girl brought her flowers, she was so touched by the gesture, that she sent me a picture of the two white clover flowers (she put) in a tiny bud vase. Sometimes it's the little things that matter.

Dad Stuff

Missing Helium Balloon

https://youtube.com/shorts/axCzjeA5HGc?si=03hDnqsCJRJlyIPe My son didn't want to part with his helium balloon that I got for him for Valentine's day. It could no longer hold up its own weight. So here I am explaining to him that it's gone. I probably shouldn't have breathed in the helium before I made the video...

Easter Bunny???

I asked my 13-year-old if he still believes in the Easter Bunny. He said, "ah huh." So I said, "so you believe in a magical rabbit that brings you stuff?" He replied, "ah huh." I might just be suspicious, but I think he just wants the chocolate rabbit....

Down with the McNess

In case you were unaware, my son has a liking for McDonald's chicken nuggets. And I have a liking for changing the lyrics to songs. So, I must say that I enjoy listening to him singing his version of "Down with the McNess," by Disturbed.

Poop Bucket?

I've been trying to tell my son that this is a picture of a guy holding a bucket of poop really far away from himself because it stinks so bad. I don't think he believes me... 🤣

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree

My son was editing his juice box at Noodles & Company. The box was sweating from condensation, so the "non" that he was trying to put in front of the word "organic," didn't turn out very well. The interesting thing about this is, I know exactly where he gets this stuff from...

Sledding!!!

Sledding was fun, but the wind was nasty. I had the distance record, until my son beat it on the last run. I probably pushed him too hard... Ready! Record Marker He beat it by inches. Pro Tip: Always yell, "yay I win!" If you didn't win, it's still a good strategy in sledding or political elections!

Picture Remake!

A little over 11 years ago, there was a picture of me with my son hiking. My wife thought we should remake that picture today. My son was a good sport and went along with it. Somehow, it didn't look right though. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that I was wearing sunglasses in the first picture, and I didn't have sunglasses with me today...

Baby Likes Hiking!

Here is proof that my son likes hiking (even though he says he doesn't). It was 2012, and he was just 2 months old, and he kept up with me step for step!

Musical Trip into the Past

My son, who "goes up to eleven," was listening to Weird Al Yankovic for awhile this evening, when I took him on a trip into the past. We listened to, The Who, Ram Jam, Redbone, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, Chuck Berry, Loudon Wainwright III, Traveling Wilburys, The Blues Brothers, Jim Croce and a few more, before it was time to call it a night. Man there was some good music back then...

Happy Meal Fun

I got a happy meal because my son likes Pokémon cards. He said I didn't put the ears on my happy box right.

Your Kids, YOUR Responsibility

Childhood and Politics

It's not until you grow up, that you realize that politics influenced your childhood. Then you know why that obnoxious kid got his way throughout elementary school because his mom was on the school board. Once you learn this cruel fact, childhood ends.
