We Are Not Okay in America

When I was very young, I know there was still discrimination and prejudice that was tolerated by some and practiced by others. I seemed to recognize over time, that it was getting better and it was starting to go away. But now, when I see the posts of some of the people I grew up with, I realize that some of them were in families where that prejudice and discrimination never went away at all, and they were indoctrinated into believing all of those horrible lies. And now, it still exists inside of them to such an extent, that they support Trump, even as he follows the playbook of other dictators, like a new version of Hitler. Perhaps a significant portion of the population has not progressed like we had hoped they would. It really is time to stand up against injustice, hate, cruelty and greed. It's not too late. But it will take all of our voices. Preaching to your friends is not enough. I know people can hear us. My blog gets about 3K hits per day--and most of that traffic is from ...

2 out of 3 Candidates have Brain Degeneration

Here's a text exchange with a couple of my friends. My replies are in green. I also think I was able to identify the issue that keeps a lot of people from voting for Kamala--even though she is the only politician named here, who has her full cognitive ability.

Discrimination vs Racism

Any group that advocates for one race and rejects including all races, is by definition, a racist organization. Any person who has been denied, purely on the basis of skin color has experienced racism. This is never acceptable regardless of which racial groups are represented in each situation. A person who was denied because of how they choose to represent themselves; such as how they act, speak and dress, has experienced discrimination, but not racism. Discrimination allows humanity to decide between one thing and another by comparison. Average, law abiding citizens may choose to distance themselves from others who choose to use socially unacceptable language and behavior. This isn't racism.

My Application is Incomplete: Like Your Religion

While filling out an online application for a technology job, I stopped when the questions about my education and experience ended and I was asked to elaborate on my Christian views and my "relationship with God." My spirituality has nothing to do with a technology job but "they" would say it has everything to do with it. I simply used the same response I received as a child when I asked church leaders why the Bible has no section dealing with the dinosaurs living on Earth. I was told I needed to have "faith." I guess that part did and still does escape me. Even at that early age I knew that either the Bible is incomplete, or God "hid" some bones in the ground just to "mess" with us... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: CuTRis Sent: Friday, February 2, 2018 4:14 AM To: GodsUniversity+autoreply@agents.icims.com Subject: Re: Your job application is incomplete! Legal Discrimination

I would just like to point out that if you create an organization or program to promote diversity, and this entity excludes all persons from one racial group in favor of others, that you have created and perpetuated racial discrimination in the process.

The Power of Discrimination!

I'm not a racist and I'm not prejudice ; but I can and do discriminate between various things. In fact, I can tell the difference between hot and cold, up and down, blue and red and a whole list of other things! This is what makes humans so versatile and why we are capable of learning. Part of this learning, for me, has taught me that some people are more likely to be friendly than others and some are more likely to start trouble than others. Often this is distinguishable by how they talk or how they dress. I've found it isn't necessarily anything to do with race or sex or skin color. There are good and bad people of all colors. But there are people who all of us will eye suspiciously—based primarily on our past experience. This is not a bad trait. It is part of learning and part of gaining experience. Unfortunately, if the people within our experiences, tend to be a certain race, have a certain look or a certain set of characteristics, we will (and probably should) b...

Black Squirrel

There is a certain neighborhood I know of that has a lot of black squirrels . There are also white squirrels and gray squirrels. They are all merely color variations of the Eastern Gray Squirrel . This means they are like Humans ; in that though there are some color variations, we are all the same species of animal. What I've noted about the squirrels, is that they don't seem to take much notice of the color of the other squirrels. They all live in this same neighborhood and seem to get along with each other just fine. I believe this is also true of human children. Left to themselves, they typically do not hold much significance as to what color they or their friends are. It seems that discrimination is largely due to the influences of adult humans, who in these types of situations, impart their own ignorance upon the children—contaminating the purity of youth. I believe there may be something to be learned from children and squirrels.
