Amazon Customer Service

Hey Amazon, if I buy the twin pack, can you just send me one and then when I contact you about it, try to steer me into contacting the supplier who had nothing to do with it because it was shipped out of your warehouse, and then could you hang up on me three times when I call to try to get it straightened out? You can?!? Cool!

Paid Reviews on Amazon?

All I know, is that a company named, Uteful that I purchased ink cartridges from on Amazon.com , sent me a letter promising me a $50 gift card if I would publish a 5-Star Review about their product. I decided to write a 2-Star review on Amazon because the company tried to bribe me. Well, I just got the email from Amazon denying to publish my review. Apparently, they are okay with this practice. So, don't trust Amazon reviews. They can be bought and sold.

Your Amazon Package

If a package from Amazon is sent by UPS, the tracking number tells you exactly where it is and when it will arrive. It's very precise. If the package is coming by US Postal Service, the tracking number tells you that the item is somewhere between Albuquerque and Zimbabwe and that it will arrive in 4 to 273 days.

Amazon COVID-19 Writers Block

Since my layoff, I've been writing a novel and also my annual children's book; which is my son's Christmas present. Both books are about COVID-19. Today when I went into my Amazon publishing account, I found that my children's book has been blocked. After much difficulty contacting anyone I found that Amazon is blocking all books related to COVID-19. They don't come out and say that anywhere, but I did finally get to speak to someone who verified this. The children's book features a little boy from Minnesota; and breaks the virus and reactions to it into "pieces" that are easily understood. It is disappointing that I can't publish, but more disappointing that this gift to my son has been blocked by an unforeseen and unforgiving business decision. -KJC

My Books So Far

Want To Get Rich Writing Books?

Get this... Createspace (where I make my paperback books) is an Amazon company. But somehow, Amazon is selling the book(s) cheaper than Createspace is. If people buy through Amazon (and why shouldn't they?), I get next-to-nothing for a royalty--where if they buy it from Createspace (and pay more), I get much more. I believe the "machine" is designed to make money. Unfortunately it is also designed so that I (the author) don't make any. Thank you Amazon for selling my books. Thanks a lot Amazon, for making sure I don't make any money from book sales. Just an FYI -- between fees, minimum amounts and creative pricing/royalty policies, I have yet to be paid for any of my book sales. But to be fair, if I ever sell millions of copies, some of that money will eventually trickle down to me! It's a good thing that I'm not in it for the money! -KJC
