Here's a text exchange with a couple of my friends. My replies are in green. I also think I was able to identify the issue that keeps a lot of people from voting for Kamala--even though she is the only politician named here, who has her full cognitive ability.

How handing out million dollar checks to buy an election is legal, I cannot understand. But some people don't have a soul, and no matter how much money they have, they cannot buy one. If there are still people who don't think that billionaires are buying the government for their own purposes, think hard about this one election for a judge seat in the state of Wisconsin. The one thing I do understand, is that enough good people had the decency to say no to this hostile takeover.

As the USA comes ever closer to a rematch between two presidential candidates who are both unfit, and both too self-centered to put the country ahead of their personal desires, I have to ask... "who is driving?" While the country appears to be polarized into ridiculously extremes of liberal and conservatism, I don't believe that many people would agree, that our best and brightest are in the running for the top job. So, how come we can't get real, quality candidates? Am I to believe that after the last shit-show of an election, the same two "grouchy old men" are still the best we've got??? So what if the elections are fair and every ballot is counted? When the only choices are bad and worse, it seems that the 2-party system has left us with once again, not choosing the best candidate for the job, but rather, the one who isn't as bad as the other one. Out of some 332 million people in the United States of America, Joe Biden (81) and Donald Trump ...

     Fascism arrived in town draped in the nation’s flag and holding a Bible. He smiled at the people and talked about how tough things were becoming. He said he wanted to help. The smile quickly turned to a frown. He pointed accusingly at the immigrants and tapped the suspicions of the population.      “Those people come here from their shit-hole countries and try to take what is ours!” he said.    Some of the town’s people looked approvingly at Fascism. Afterall, he was carrying a Bible! And he was wearing a flag! He also was disapproving of those odd people who came here to take their jobs.      “They want your jobs,” Fascism went on, “and they bring diseases.”      Fascism began to notice a few people who eyed him suspiciously. They were the ones he would attack next. They were the people who believed in fairness and equality. Some of them were educated.  ...

While I’m not at all in agreement with how the Democrats have fueled a race war and advocated for “dumbing down” society to accommodate those unwilling to try hard—as well as supporting groups that use “white bashing” as a supposed form of diversity, I cannot under any circumstances, accept the militant, fantasy-driven Fascism that the Republican party now represents. Because we have only two viable parties in the USA, I have to choose from the lesser of two evils. We have all been witness to how an authoritarian regime can destroy a country; as we watch Russia spiral in for a crash landing. The similarities to other fascist regimes as well as leaders who have no ability to tell or comprehend the truth, have placed democracy in a perilous position. Vote carefully, as this election is likely about something much bigger than your personal preferences. Our entire way of governing and choosing leaders is at stake. The most fascinating thing about the January 6 Hearings, is not the bullying and deceit. Most reasonable people already knew that was happening. The true revelation is that the USA was well on its way to having an authoritarian dictator who would break laws and abuse trust to stay in power. This is also how Putin and others have remained in power. But the truly heartbreaking fact is, that regardless of the truth coming out, there are still legions of followers who will willingly follow Trump to hell. This should scare anyone, regardless of your opinions on issues or whether you tend to be liberal or conservative. Living under an authoritarian ruler is not something anyone should want.

The trump has now advised everyone to vote twice. Once by mail, and then again in person. Doing so is illegal. It also defeats the purpose of mail-in voting in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. So I'm going to go one better. I plan on voting on horseback wearing a tutu. Not only is it not illegal, but it is a more intelligent option than the one the president has advised.

While I honestly believe that the Democratic Party is causing serious social problems with an unrealistic far-left agenda, I have to admit that when I look at the Democratic politicians and candidates, they are far more representative in their diversity, of my own neighborhood, than are the Republican politicians and candidates who seem to be rather white bread. As I tend to immerse myself in both sides in an attempt to find the truth, I can see that Donald Trump still has a following; in spite of an almost complete lack of compassion and truthfulness. We obviously need a change at the top. And when that happens, I hope some focus moves to all of the children who are being hurt or killed and all of the gun violence that is not being caused by law enforcement. There is still the need for people to be responsible for their own actions; regardless of their race, sex religion or economic status.

Is our only choice for President really a spoiled brat billionaire or a grouchy old man who thinks everyone can get everything for free? I had really hoped we could do better. I live in the middle. Our country and our politics and our society are polarized left or right; liberal or conservative. How can we ever hope to find any semblance of the truth? I stand by my word that the top candidates are ridiculously one sided. It is my right to have and voice my opinion. If anyone wants to discuss the finer attributes of either candidate or party, kindly do it on your own page not mine. It's a pity that everywhere I look, we have such narrow minded leaders. We should demand better. It is no wonder unscrupulous foreign governments want Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders to be the U.S. President. Neither one has a grasp of democracy. One is authoritarian and one is a socialist. They picked your candidates for you. Shouldn't we pick our own candidates who can see the bigger picture?
