Greatest Movie Ever!

"My favorite part was when the rabbit and the peacock sang about the delicious sun cakes made fresh from the Matanusca Valley!"

"You fell asleep during the whole movie, didn't you dad?!"

Stop Bullying

As we try to teach our children about being kind, it seems that a lot of adults never learned this important skill. Or, maybe it's just too easy and alluring to some people, to become an Internet bully and reach out and hurt someone through social media. I have left the second Facebook group I ever joined, for the same reason I left the first. The conversation deviated from the group's subject, and it spawned attacks and bullying. I marvel at how viscous people can get behind the wheel of an automobile, and the ease of social media has created a bunch of adult bullies. My most recent transgression, was asking others to stop attacking each other. I know this was a risk on my part, but it is quite possibly the same thing I would have done if we were all in the same room face to face. Please be kind. There is too much hate and hurt. People who are hurting, are more likely to hurt others. We should be perpetuating joy and goodness instead.

5 Months of Flowers

My Christmas Cactus is closing on more than 5 months of continuous blooming. It peaked 3 weeks ago when I started my new job. Sorry I didn't post a picture then! It's orange now and might finally be done for the season.

Liberty and Justice?

Imagine living in a world where guns are valued more than children. Where the news media only tells half the story. Where the truth is made up by whoever is loudest. Where the biggest criminals are set up as the biggest victims. Where everything is made into race whether it is or not. Where good and bad are judged by politics and not by individual circumstances. Where violence is sanctioned in entertainment and on the streets in real life. And where people are afraid to speak the truth for fear of the backlash. Then you will know what our society has become.

Shame on the News Media

The American News Media is masterfully manipulating public opinion by what they choose to tell, and what they choose to ignore. It may be the single most destructive force in the way of realistic social reform and unity. The public should demand the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. There are multiple sides and factors to every issue. Constantly showing only one side never gives the holistic perspective. It creates misinformation and misdirection. This is why despite all the effort, nothing gets solved.

Hypocrisy of a Democracy

Liberal-minded Americans are going to be upset if the news media ever starts telling the truth about who is really attacking Asians. You wanted Trump out for good reason. But you still can't handle the truth. Nice little hypocrisy of a democracy.

Running Water Beneath Ice

Hypocritical Silence

It's interesting to see how many will jump on the liberal bandwagon to protest against police in support of black lives, who simultaneously remain quiet while Asian neighbors are victimized by hate. I've noticed your silence.

Social Hypocrisy

People should understand, that past inequities cannot negate certain demographics from following laws and rules. And those advocating such doctrines are doing no one any favors.

On the opposite end, those with lots of money and privilege, are not better than anyone else. Your money and status does not make it right for you to behave badly.

Diversity is not just black and white. It's economic, and it's popularity and religious affiliation and so much more.

And finally, if we're so concerned about justice, equality and diversity, why is there so little outrage or publicity about the horrific and continued attacks and violence against Asian Americans? We've replaced the previous instigator-in-chief, but the attacks continue. Often perpetrated by people who would protest loudly if such injustices were directed at them. Why is our society so tolerant of attacks on some but not others? Why the hypocrisy?

CuTRis strolled up to the microphone like a man on a mission.
"I see no reason that any vaccine needs to be put into anyone's "Johnson!" he exclaimed. It's an absolute outrage! I think any vaccine that can't be put in your arm is..."
It was then, that someone whispered something in CuTRis' ear.
Suddenly he looked uncomfortable, and said,
"Never mind."
And with that, the press conference was over...

3rd Grade Car Owners

We never intended on getting our third grade son his own phone, until our wireless carrier offered us a free line. We don't have a landline, and the phone has become pretty useful especially during the pandemic. Often it is safer to leave him home for a few minutes than to take him out for a quick trip to the store. He's been able to keep in touch with his grandparents and friends. So there's been a lot of good that's come of it. We typically don't let him take the phone to school or keep it in his room at night. But today, there was definitely a problem. While he was away at school two phonecalls came through on his phone. Both were the same issue. Apparently the warranty on my son's car, may have expired...
