It’s interesting to analyze how we got to the point of having a dictator and oligarchy in the USA. Donald J. Trump is simultaneously exhibiting authoritarian attributes, and mental instability or possibly age-related mental degeneration. This combined with his crimes against women, underhanded business dealings and a support base of paranoid, racist followers, has created a very dangerous dynamic. But it wasn’t more than just a few years ago, I lost liberal friends because I would not be as liberal as they demanded me to be. I still supported law enforcement during the George Floyd trauma, though it was tragic that Floyd was killed and some rookie officers were politically sacrificed in the process. I was completely in favor of any form of domestic partnerships having the same rights as marriage—but against calling it “marriage,” when same-sex. My son said they're not allowed to wear hats during their school band concert, unless it is worn for religious reasons. So, I invented the sacred holiday of Flomptiken, which our family celebrates every year. It is marked by wearing hats and no pants. Since we have already made concessions to the tradition, by wearing pants, we should not be persecuted further, by not being allowed to wear our Flomptiken hats.🙂

As those on the left tried to create equality by making victims of criminals, they were met by the force from the right who were hellbent on destroying democracy. Only the truth could save them. But the truth lay in the center of the battle, broken and bleeding.

I am posting this for my liberal friends, who like to tell me how delicious Hmong food is. For traditional, ceremonial purposes, I have had to prepare two Hmong boiled chickens for the second time this month. It is likely that most of these people have never tasted authentic Hmong food. It is typically bland, boiled and accompanied by amazingly hot pepper sauce. I'm not a fan, even after 15 years. Although... don't the heads look particularly appetizing? I don't recall seeing anyone ever eat the heads; though I've heard people crunching up the feet.

Just to reiterate something I've said before because some people don't seem to understand. If I make a negative comment against either the Democrats or the Republicans, that does not mean I am siding with the opposite. If I make a statement about liberals or conservatives, that is not an endorsement for the other side. Once you go too far either direction, you enter what I consider dumb land. Basically, I think both sides are full of crap. The extremes are filled with people who tell lies for political gain. It is very damaging. The only real truth lies somewhere in between. The current trend is to take 10% of the truth and use it to propagate the 90% of lies. This is why we can't get past race, and we can't get past covid-19. Ask yourself who is benefiting from all of this fighting. It is all political. And some of it is even starting from outside of our borders. It is quite possible that all of the negative focus on racism in our society, is only making the issue worse. My family is biracial, and multicultural--and we simply cannot let all of that continuous negativity into our daily lives. We identify as a family, and the other labels, while they may exist, are simply not that important. Racism is learned. So while we may agree it is unwanted, constant reference and exposure helps to keep it alive.

It's unfortunate and also a bit interesting, that some of the most supposedly politically correct people, are only such in very narrow parameters. It seems that while currently, some people hold African-American Rights in high esteem, and you can't say anything negative about an overweight person, or a gay person, these same people have no problem cutting down Muslims, making jokes about short people, and making bald jokes. I'm still waiting for the day when everyone gets equal treatment, no one is singled out, and there are a lot fewer hypocrites.

Imagine living in a world where guns are valued more than children. Where the news media only tells half the story. Where the truth is made up by whoever is loudest. Where the biggest criminals are set up as the biggest victims. Where everything is made into race whether it is or not. Where good and bad are judged by politics and not by individual circumstances. Where violence is sanctioned in entertainment and on the streets in real life. And where people are afraid to speak the truth for fear of the backlash. Then you will know what our society has become.

The American News Media is masterfully manipulating public opinion by what they choose to tell, and what they choose to ignore. It may be the single most destructive force in the way of realistic social reform and unity. The public should demand the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. There are multiple sides and factors to every issue. Constantly showing only one side never gives the holistic perspective. It creates misinformation and misdirection. This is why despite all the effort, nothing gets solved.
