Harmony Repair Services

The family road trip was in jeopardy when my car's tire pressure light went on during pouring rain. When I checked, only one tire was low and upon further examination, I could see the nail head in the tread. The 2 tire repair shops in Preston Minnesota, where I was at the time were both too busy to be bothered with fixing a tire. I drove on to Harmony, Minnesota where I was able to get it repaired at Harmony Repair Services. Even though the inside of the garage was completely filled with vehicles, the owner/mechanic had me pull up to the door and he fixed the tire in about 15 minutes.

Paid Reviews on Amazon?

All I know, is that a company named, Uteful that I purchased ink cartridges from on Amazon.com , sent me a letter promising me a $50 gift card if I would publish a 5-Star Review about their product. I decided to write a 2-Star review on Amazon because the company tried to bribe me. Well, I just got the email from Amazon denying to publish my review. Apparently, they are okay with this practice. So, don't trust Amazon reviews. They can be bought and sold.

NOT Great Clips

The coupon says valid thru 6-19-2023. But my wife was told it was no good when paying for our son's haircut today. I don't like bait and switch. Great Clips customer service says it's okay because all salons are independently owned. So if you see these coupons, be advised they may not work.

Genz-Ryan Plumbing Takes Advantage of Elderly

Genz-Ryan Plumbing took advantage of my elderly parents and charged for services that weren't needed. The extra charges (beyond the work requested) were about $1,500. Then, when I was unhappy about that, they decided to start sending me their mailer. I told them to stop, and promised to post this if they continued. I got another one today. This company is not trustworthy.

Metro PCS: Customer Disservice

Up until I had my first phone problem, I would have said Metro by T-Mobile was a great phone company. However, their customer service is designed to wear you down. They tell you over and over "I will put you on hold for less than 2 minutes"--and then they come back (usually) in 10. They never follow-up and when I wanted a credit for spending 9 hours and buying a new phone (I didn't need) that didn't solve the problem, they refused. Obviously they like the money better than my business. Update: Feb. 12, 2019 Somewhere, somehow my dissatisfaction ended up being noticed by Kevin G. who finally listened to me and made great strides in setting things right!

Sprint Still Sucks!

If you read my blog last month, I had a lengthy issue involving my Sprint Phone . Basically they changed my plan without my consent and started charging me more. After the lengthy and frustrating process to put everything back the way it was, it happened all over again yesterday. Sprint , you suck! Update: And yet again, after another month went by Sprint "lost" my MERSC discount and so the price went up again and I have to reapply. Are all phone companies so crooked? The reviews by the public say, "yes."

When SPRINT Said I Changed My Plan

I understand that I'm a " dinosaur " because (even though I am employed in Information Technology) I don't succumb to every new (and not so new) technological trend. My wife and I have cell phones and I get a good price on my plan because I've had it for a long time and we don't have any extras. Our phones are just phones. They are not portable computers that have voice/calling as one of the apps. So when Sprint emailed me that I had changed my plan a couple of weeks ago, I immediately called customer service to find out what was going on. The people at customer service asked for verification of who I was by a code word established years ago. I gave the person the word and she was unable to " authenticate it." Though I was calling on the phone in question about a change that had obviously been made, I was forced to go to a Sprint store. At the store, I was able to use my ID to establish a PIN and to find out that my plan had been changed to Unlimi...

Aldi Has Low Prices and Poor Customer Service

I'm a fan of Aldi prices, but recently the customer service (minimal to begin with) has taken a serious downturn (at lease at one St. Paul location). The issue has occurred 3 of the last 4 times I've shopped there. The price signs are different than the price at the register. For whatever reason, it appears to be beyond the abilities of the staff to remedy this and at least one manager likes to make it seem like it is my fault! So yesterday I received a phone call from an Aldi customer service representative who told me that they have a disclaimer on their website and flyers stating that they can change the prices at any time without notice. I told him that it is illegal to "bait and switch" and he continued to defend their unethical ways. That was when I decided to end the call. If you choose to shop at Aldi, make sure to review your receipt and make them refund any overcharges! I know it is difficult to get a refund when customers are lined up but they should ...

Riceland Brown Rice has Weevils

So I realize that weevils can and do occur in rice. It only happened to me once before and the manufacturer happily replaced it. But recently, in a package of Riceland Brown Rice , I noticed weevils floating in it as I washed it. I notified Cub Foods (online) where I bought it, but they told me to contact Riceland directly. I also emailed Riceland (customer service) multiple times and received no response. So I just wanted to put a little warning out that if you buy a Riceland product from Cub Foods and it is bad, you probably will just be out the money you spent—unless you wash the bugs out and keep eating it—which is a viable option. Update - Just 3 ½ hours after sending the link to this review to the same Riceland customer service email address I got a response! I will update if anything comes of it. Update 5/16/2016 - I received coupons in the mail for free rice from Riceland.

Trader Joe's Doesn't Care What You Think

I sent this (see below) to Trader Joe's online feedback on the website exactly two months ago today—where they claim that they are eager to hear comments. I’m thinking two months later—with a reminder at one month—that really isn’t the case. I like the store most of the time, but I don’t believe that they really care what I think. Walking through produce (Store 727) today I noticed some nice Bartlett pears in 2# bags. The sign on the bin said Bartlett Pears 2# $2.49. When I got to the register they were $3.49. I was overcharged! I brought it to the cashier's attention and she rang a bell and a guy went to look. He didn't find the sign (lots of stuff not priced) and went to another register to get the price of $3.49. The cashier (Liz) removed the item from my bill and I paid (Invoice 3404) and put my groceries in the car. Just to satisfy myself, I went back in and the sign was still there for the pears but now apples were in that bin. I took a digital picture and showed...

Your Bank Might Be Lying

Your bank might be lying to you. My bank (TCF) was lying to me for years! I have two accounts. One is a checking account and used for paying for things. The other is a savings account used for saving money. For years, numerous bank employees have told me the "best" place for my savings was in a checking account —even though I was not using the checking features. Recently, precipitated by a letter that told of impending reductions in services—unless I paid additional fee s, I found one woman from TCF (customer service via phone) who told me different. She actually tried to find what was best for me and not TCF. So with her recommendations, I went to my local branch to change my accounts. I was met with some serious opposition! The people there did not want to change my accounts and tried to come up with numerous reasons that I should not. None of the reasons actually pertained to my personal situation or needs. I persisted and made the changes. The first monthly stateme...

Allied Waste

Allied Waste, also known as Republic Services has the city contract for our trash hauling services. I've not been happy with them a couple of times now . Most recently, they added a charge to our bill after the billing cycle was already paid. It was for an increase but was not explained. I was ticked-off because I don't think anyone should be able to add a cost/amount to a bill that has already shown as a lower amount and been paid. The guy from the city said they can add the charge legally; though it is not a good way to handle customer service. So I have taken the liberty of writing this explanation for Republic since they saw no need to do so. * Your bill reflects an increase that was in effect--but did not show on your last billing statement. That increase has been added to this billing cycle. Sincerely, The Fartknockers at Republic

Hell-town Foundation: History & Mission

Founded in 1666, Hell-town Foundation is one of the oldest malevolent nonprofit organizations in the nation. The Foundation’s first project was soliciting invalids for death rituals. Over its long history, Hell-town has evolved into a private foundation that makes grants to perverse groups of nonprofit human deviant agencies and programs. The Foundation benefits from the involvement of enraged volunteers, a strong cult base, and a history of excellent management. From its modest beginning to the present day, Hell-town has been run by satanic volunteers who have never lost sight of the founders’ mission of community anarchy.

Arden Hills Tire & Service Center Review

I bought new tires at Arden Hills Tire & Service Center today and I was quite pleased. The quality of the tires was good and the prices were also good. In fact, I recognized the brand--which was a change from most of the shops I got quotes from. There were no hidden charges and my quote was right on. Tim the manager showed me my alignment specs and said everything looked good. With their pick-up/delivery service, this was extremely convenient.
