It was too hot to turn on the oven to bake this raspberry / rhubarb pie, so it spent an hour in a roasting pan on the hot driveway. The temperature is 90° Fahrenheit (32°C). I'm sure it was hotter on the driveway inside that roasting pan.

This honeydew grew itself, compliments of compost bin soil.

I think it's a honeydew.

I have to have nets on my apple trees to keep the deer from eating them. My Chestnut Crabapples are ready now, So everyday a few more drop to the bottom of the net.

Several years ago, I bought two bare root apple trees and dug out lots of clay and back filled with compost. A couple years later, my wife was not impressed and said we would never get apples. So, I decided to cover the tops of the trees this year, because the deer always eat them off every year. So, my Chestnut Crabapple produced one apple this year. We're still waiting for the dwarf Honeycrisp. But our first apple was delicious and though small, was shared by the whole family!
