Freedom of Dissent

Not publicly speaking up against tyranny, is one step away from losing your freedom of speech.

Regime Change...

If most Americans are struggling to afford healthcare, struggling to pay for housing, food, utilities... you know... life stuff, and the political leadership is focused on using taxpayer money to build a ballroom, paint a reflecting pool, build an arch, host UFC fights, start wars and wasteful stuff like that... could it be time for new leaders?

Epstein Files????????

Does anyone know when the Epstein files are supposed to be released? I'm beginning to think there might be some kind of a cover up.

How many books have I written?

So, the question I've gotten a few times recently, is how many books have I written? Honestly, I lost count, so I pulled these off of my bookshelf, and I think it is all of them. The first picture is my novels, and my two cooking/brewing books. The second picture, shows all of the books I've written for my son each year. I did not bother to put them in chronological order. All of these should be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble websites. "Cottonwood," is most likely to teach you history. "COVID Time," will make you think about the pandemic and how it changed everything. "Noah's Ark: 39 Million Light Years from Earth," will make you wonder about our place in the Universe. "Bloody Average," has two endings, and will make you think about what kind of a world do you want to live in. "Lapse of Humanity," will take you inside the psyche of a killer. "Synopsis, a Conversation with my Dead Father," will probabl...

Canoeing and Eggs

While canoeing a seldom used small, weedy, city lake in the St. Paul area, we noticed large eggs scattered on an island. There were two swans nearby, and it seemed logical the eggs came from them. There didn't appear to be any nest, but as we canoed around the island there were at least a dozen eggs, and none noticeably broken. Could the swans be young and not know enough to nest and incubate the eggs? We almost got stuck while exploring, because the water got shallow, the bottom was muck and the weeds turned into a thick mat! The dragonflies were thick! The water lilies were beautiful. And the weather was just about perfect.

For Father's Day

I left the car in the picture, because that's my car and because my dad liked cars.

Goodbye, Uncle Bud

Today we remember my uncle Bud. He is the only person I know, who wanted to have a copy of all of the novels that I've written. I'm told he read them all too.

Trump's Iran Deal

All of the people who died... all of the destruction, all of the inflation and money spent and jobs lost, only to get an agreement that was worse than what we had before you started the war. Well, played Mr. President well played...

Bye Rabbit!

Here is the rabbit that climbs on the front porch and sits in my wife's flower pots and eats. I helped it move to a new home near a lake 3 miles away.

Two Harbors & Gooseberry Falls

The morning walk on the breaker in Two Harbors was sparkling! There was still fog out on Lake Superior. Then, we visited Gooseberry Falls.

Fog, High Falls & Grand Portages

There was still lots of fog this morning. We visited High Falls on the Pigeon River. The Sun came out. Then, we went to Grand Portage National Monument. It started warming up. After a late lunch at Cascade Restaurant, the fog was back. Palisade Head was locked in fog, and we found the actual beach at Black Beach. But it was also foggy. By the time we reached our motel in Two Harbors late afternoon, it was raining.
