The irony of what is about to happen to rural America, and the small-town people who have been supporting Donald Trump, is that the federal money that historically propped up their infrastructure is being pulled away. While some people applauded as programs to help minorities and immigrants were repealed, the social programs subsidizing such things as rural healthcare, media and education have now been targeted. This is further evidence that many people were fooled by a liar who used their own prejudices against them. What will be more interesting, is if these same people will be able to recognize their mistake as things begin to go bad for them.

Somehow, certain people are still spreading bald-faced lies to try to legitimate Donald Trump. So I just wanted to mention, that his trip to the Middle East has allowed him to meet with people who have supported the murder of Americans and with those who fund Hamas. He has been bribed, and he wants that $400 million airplane from the people (in Qatar) who bankroll Hamas terrorists.

I really liked the first two Grumpy Old Men movies. But this third one is just dumb.

Somehow, Donald Trump gets congratulated for stock market manipulation for backing off an economic disaster he created to make money. If Martha Stewart was president, she would go to prison.

Imagine if someone with access to a lot of money could cause the stock market to crash, like just for an example, if they could impose tariffs. Then, that person and others like him, could buy up a lot of stocks cheaply. Then if that same person could undo the tariffs and the stock market went back up, they would stand to gain a lot of money. It sure is a good thing for the rest of us who aren't billionaires, that no one has thought to do this.

How handing out million dollar checks to buy an election is legal, I cannot understand. But some people don't have a soul, and no matter how much money they have, they cannot buy one. If there are still people who don't think that billionaires are buying the government for their own purposes, think hard about this one election for a judge seat in the state of Wisconsin. The one thing I do understand, is that enough good people had the decency to say no to this hostile takeover.

For the entire summer, my family has been dealing with my dad's age and Parkinson's related decline. After a fall in June he ended up in the hospital, and then in Transitional Care, before we then had to find a place for him to get the care he needed that was now too much for my elderly mother to provide. We did find a place that seemed good and they said they would only charge for what he needed. They had good reviews. This place was expensive and didn't provide all the services they charged for. Pricing was "a la carte" which really meant they charged for everything. There were many caring staff, but the Health and Wellness Director, Michelle Allen used bullying when we had concerns. She routinely threatened to raise the price when we had questions, and she blamed inappropriate treatment on dad's dementia. Fox News, famous for its $787 Million settlement for publicly lying about the 2020 Presidential election, seems to be the only place that Donald Trump will feel safe enough to debate Kamala Harris . One needs only to look at Fox News , to realize that it has less credibility than The Onion . But likely, anyone who believes (or chooses to support) Trump's lame allegations that this or that thing is, "the worst ever in history," or the "best ever in history," won’t probably realize (or choose to realize) that Trump (and probably them too) need to study history , and use a source that didn’t have to settle for $787 Million to avoid a trial for lying.

I just got an email from my contact at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, where I have been known to volunteer as a (volunteer) park ranger. They are preparing for a government shutdown and closing the Refuge if that happens. The wildlife is busy packing up in case they have to leave.

Sorry, got to get this off my chest... If politicians want to help, stop the 1-time "stimulus" payments. It's not enough if you need it, and lots of people don't need it. Some people are doing well by the pandemic, and some are totally screwed! How about some more unemployment for those who lost incomes and unemployment ran out!?!
