New York City Mayor, Zohran Mamdani , seems to have shown us again, what many of us already knew. Creating social programs that provide individuals and families with stability, reduces crime far better than police and prisons do. It should not be that difficult to understand that when people are desperate, they will behave desperately. This is just another example of how the MAGA movement is contrary to logic. But it is also fundamental for the billionaire ruling class, to direct the anger of the less educated against our poor, to deflected away from the fact that it is the obscenely rich, who are stealing billions of dollars from us.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! I have a dream, that oneday racism, meanness and injustice will disappear. I have a dream that health and wealth will be equitable. I have a dream that our new leaders will be concerned with the people instead of just themselves.

Is it a confusing message for our children, when we teach them that race should not be how we judge people, or select them for jobs, and how we should instead look at character and merit, and no one should be excluded due to gender or skin color--when President Biden is looking exclusively for a black woman to be the next Supreme Court Justice? Because I understand why it's being done, but it still seems to undermine the true idea behind real equality; and hiring the best person for the job, regardless of race, gender or religious affiliation.

Saying "All Lives Matter," is not racist. It includes everyone. It does not exclude anyone. If you disagree, that is your right. However, advocating for only one race, is by definition, racist. If you still disagree, test this by replacing the word, black with white. Do you still think it sounds okay? Unless we can accept that all lives matter, we cannot achieve racial harmony. Forcing racial equity through exclusion, is divisive. Bottomline is that you can have BLM, but stop attacking people who say that all lives matter.
