Good McNews!

With all of the negative things in the news lately, I wanted to share some good news! The person at McDonald's who sits on every hamburger before you get it, still has his/her job. And as you can see by my photo, is doing excellent work.

Worst President in American History

Saying Prices are Dropping Doesn't Make it So

That leader of the USA, who keeps telling us that prices are going down... don't believe it. I was just at the grocery store. Keep in mind that not only is Trump a liar, but he's also really bad at math and borderline illiterate. You better check everything for yourself before you believe him. I'm still waiting for his supporters to wakeup and follow the money trail.

Grumpiest Old Men 3

I really liked the first two Grumpy Old Men movies. But this third one is just dumb.

Penguin Hat Tarrifs

If some of the tariffs are being suspended yet again, maybe I will be able to buy that cool red hat from the Penguins!

It's Economics, Not Race

Just to reiterate what I have said before--and taken heat over by smarter people on both the left and the right. There is no race war. It was manufactured to dupe the public, and it worked. The issue is that more money is being controlled by fewer people. It's quite easy to convince people that those who look different, speak a different language, recently immigrated, etc. are the source of all their problems. But it just isn't true. Corporate raiders and "robber barons," are the real problem. Also problematic is continuous disinformation, disregard of science and vilifying the working poor. The country is now in the hands of the filthy rich--because the lies worked.

Truth in the USA???

There is an unfortunate problem in the United States of America , with knowing, telling and believing the truth . While it is generally not talked about, poverty in the USA is the 4th leading cause of death . When so many other countries have successfully implemented national healthcare , why does the USA not have it? One of the main arguments against it, seems to be that it takes too long to get appointments to see a doctor when you need one. Since it regularly takes two months to see a doctor (often longer for a specialist), now , in the United States, I call BS on that argument. Some countries even have free or reduced cost for college educations ! Not in the USA though. The "richest country in the world," seems to only apply to a small fraction of the US population. In fact, if the US government sees you as below the poverty line , you are in pretty bad shape. So, the issue in America, is that corporations tend to dictate to the politicians, and the politicians then ...

Vaccine Economics 101

Welcome to COVID-19 Vaccine Economics! I'd like to begin by reaffirming that getting a vaccine is a personal choice. And, we all know that choices have consequences. Due to increased costs resulting from preventable illnesses, anyone who refused the opportunity to receive a free COVID-19 vaccine, who gets sick and needs medical treatment, including hospitalization, will be entirely responsible for all costs resulting from treatment of COVID-19, and any resulting longterm effects from the virus. Thank you for understanding our rights, to serve the best interest of the larger community.

Research vs Cancel Culture

The current trend is to blame systemic racism for inequality, and cancel culture has stopped the exploration into other possible factors; and so, solutions. Some questions I have are what are the reasons that some African-Americans have succeeded while others haven't? Second, of the growing number of black homeowners in my neighborhood, many seem to be recent immigrants from Africa. Why are they able to succeed? Answering the systemic differences between success and not may offer real solutions. Simply looking at obvious, surface issues without further exploration is inconsistent with scientific study. If a patient told her doctor she had foot pain and the doctor simply prescribed pain medication without further study, the results could be disastrous. If the pain was caused by diabetes, introducing more medication for the body to process could make the original disease worse. Yet, this is how cancel culture diagnoses social illness. Now, after all that's happened, is there le...

Political Dynamics of Climate Change

There has been a lot of talk about climate change recently—and rightly so. A young lady from Sweden by the name of Greta Thunberg , has brought the fight to the world leaders. She is quite right, that we need to be careful of what we do to the environment. I remember when I was a child, there were no hawks or eagles around my local area—because of the widespread use of DDT . Now after being banned in 1972, I see hawks daily and eagles weekly. But there are still climate change doubters . Even if the science shows the impact, some will always deny it. Part of this is due to how the World Economy plays into the politics. This is often frustrating for the activists; who usually don't want to think about this part of the issue—because they believe their point-of-view is of a higher importance. Perhaps it is, but when I visited the the climate protest at the Minnesota State Capitol , the first few speakers were more focused on racial inequality than they were on climate change. I was...

The Reality of Raising Minimum Wage

I understand that people always want to make more money. So many will want the Minimum wage to go up. But there are some serious repercussions to doing this. So if you want it and you will make more money if it passes, just remember that everything that you buy will be more expensive as a result of it. That is called inflation . Along with this will be layoff s. If there were two of you making those hamburgers, now there will be only one of you and you will need to work harder and faster. Of course, since the hamburger has gone from $5 to $7.75 to help pay the new wages, maybe there will be fewer people buying hamburgers—so you won't be too busy after all. If the business can't sell enough hamburgers, maybe it will have to close. Then you will have to look for a new job. So pickup that sign and go protest for that $15 per hour minimum wage! Enjoy your higher income!

Cutris Says No Obstacle Too Big

Cutris Says No Obstacle Too Big UnAssociated Press April 1, 2009 Former Presidential candidate Cutris, called a press conference yesterday in the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. After the two-hour hike to the site of the press conference, only eight of the original 247 reporters successfully made it to the site. Cutris addressed the "super eight," as he called them, and said he had brought them there to demonstrate a point. "People in the United States and around the world, need to start working for the common good ," Cutris began. "It is no longer good enough that the rich are doing well and the wealth "trickles" down to the masses. This thinking from the Reagan era, has proven false. When people get too greedy, things start to fall apart." Cutris continued. "Even though common sense might dictate that such things as pollution, bad loans, sending jobs overseas and global warming are bad for everyone, certain business and politic...
