Paid Reviews on Amazon?

All I know, is that a company named, Uteful that I purchased ink cartridges from on Amazon.com , sent me a letter promising me a $50 gift card if I would publish a 5-Star Review about their product. I decided to write a 2-Star review on Amazon because the company tried to bribe me. Well, I just got the email from Amazon denying to publish my review. Apparently, they are okay with this practice. So, don't trust Amazon reviews. They can be bought and sold.

False Prophets

“…And they waved their scrap of truth like a banner—through the streets while pulling the wagonload of lies and distributing hate and distrust throughout the land. For even as they preached about the injustices, their own words and actions betrayed the reality and contributed to the death, decay and misery.”

Cause and Effect

adjective 1. noting a relationship between actions or events such that one or more is the result of the other or others. The shooting of Philando Castile is a tragedy. It is also a time for everyone to be careful how they react to it. Governor Mark Dayton has said this would not have happened if Castile had been white; though we still do not have all the facts of what had happened prior to the now widely viewed video taken by Castile’s girlfriend. Because of this, I believe that Mark Dayton has contributed to the public unrest. This is cause and effect. It might be a good time for all of us to think about the cause and effect of what each one of us does and says. It is possible that the officer who shot Castile was reacting to the fact that a disproportional number of gun related murders are committed by young black men. Because of this, the officer may have been more likely to distrust a young black man with a gun (even if the gun was legal). It might not be right or politically...

I've Heard Too Many Lies...

The video , now on CNN, is very disturbing. It is disturbing because a man is dying from a gunshot wound. It is disturbing because the officer who shot him is still pointing his weapon at him. It is disturbing because we don't see what happened prior to the fatal shot. We don't see any reason for it; because the video starts after the man has been shot. It is disturbing because it happened close to home. But most disturbing of all, may be that the man's girlfriend was posting it live on Facebook—which I have to say, would not be what I would be doing in her position. In fact, an angry commentary of the whole thing (which while sensationalizing it, CNN also found that they must "bleep" out much of the audio) would not be my primary concern at that moment. Is that what you are supposed to do??? If someone you care about is shot right next to you do you grab your phone and make sure to get it on Facebook? The entire thing is so very disturbing. And I (and everyone...

Multiple Versions of "Truth" May Explain Racial Tensions

http://kstp.com/news/audio-interviews-rayann-hayes-mark-ringgenberg-dustin-schwarze-michael-trullinger-jamar-clark-case/4096111/ When the woman at the center of the Jamar Clark case finally made a statement after the officers involved in the shooting were cleared, her story has changed from the original story that she told to police. We know that there are multiple versions because the news stations have now put the recordings side-by-side. When you do not know what the truth is and you change it depending on to whom and when you are recounting it, how can any of it be believed? Isn't this what the racial tension is based in? There are multiple versions of the "truth;" and too many people who have never learned that telling the truth is important. If you have learned that lying is a means to get your own desired outcome, you are (falsely) causing the mistrust that is harming the society that our children will inherit from us. That puts those who are unable to tell the ...
