Protest at MN State Capitol Today

As I walked past the state capitol where the abortion rights protest was going on, I couldn't help but think how inappropriate it was for that woman to be repeatedly screaming the "F-Word" through a bullhorn and preaching hate to all the "white men" who were trying to tell her what to with her body—while those busloads of school kids were coming to and from the capitol on their fieldtrips. The unfortunate truth is, that her message whether I agree or not, was lost on me because she could not control herself and had no concept of public decency.

Every Life is Precious in Alabama...

Alabama state Sen. Clyde Chambliss ushered the abortion bill through the chamber. "Even if its origins are in very difficult situations, that life is still precious," the Republican said in explaining his support for the bill. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/alabama-abortion-bill/h_8f3c684e00c1788009169368efe3b1f0 ---------------------------------------------------------- Alabama is an open carry state as well. This means that a person can openly carry a handgun without any type of permit or license. Places that are prohibited by state law still apply as "off limits" to any person who is open carrying a handgun. However, you can't open carry in a vehicle without a permit.  - Apr 29, 2015 I was going to list the shootings in Alabama's recent history, but the list was quite lengthy. Here are the "Mass Shootings" so far in 2019   Today is May 15, 2019 Remember everyone, life is precious in Alabama.

American Revolution Reenactment

During breakfast this morning, my first grader son was asking about the American Revolution. So we did a re-enactment using markers, chocolate Easter eggs, and colored pencils. We covered many things, such as, how the colonists used guerrilla tactics versus how the English troops liked to line up across from their enemy. We also covered the midnight ride of Paul Revere, and the Boston Tea Party. In the end, I'm happy to say that the chocolate Easter eggs, aka the colonists, came out victorious. But we did have to give credit to the colored pencils, aka the French Navy, for preventing reinforcements from changing the outcome.
