Why Are We Waiting for Real ID???

Minnesota needs to hurry and get the Real ID issue settled so Minnesotans can travel by air without needing a passport. But Democrats (so I hear) are holding up the progress because of a concern that undocumented immigrants won't be able to get a drivers license. What??? Why are illegal immigrants allowed to get drivers licenses in the first place? The drivers license gives you a "status" of legitimacy. If you are here illegally, why should you have one? Yes, this is a real security threat and to hold up the remedy is idiotic.
