1. The idea that everyone should walk around with a loaded gun as long as they have a permit. More people are being killed by guns than ever before. I think this can be called a failure. Even if they are legal permit holders (like the guy who pulled a gun on me in traffic one morning), their guns are likely getting out into the hands of people who shouldn't have them.
2. The idea that certain people are not (held) responsible for their actions, behavior, education, children, income, etc., because they belong to a particular demographic. If we all truly believe in equal rights, then everyone is responsible too. That means you stop blaming everyone else for your bad behavior and poor performance.
