Two Harbors & Gooseberry Falls

The morning walk on the breaker in Two Harbors was sparkling! There was still fog out on Lake Superior. Then, we visited Gooseberry Falls.

Fog, High Falls & Grand Portages

There was still lots of fog this morning. We visited High Falls on the Pigeon River. The Sun came out. Then, we went to Grand Portage National Monument. It started warming up. After a late lunch at Cascade Restaurant, the fog was back. Palisade Head was locked in fog, and we found the actual beach at Black Beach. But it was also foggy. By the time we reached our motel in Two Harbors late afternoon, it was raining.

North Shore / Gunflint Trail Weather

It was 51° Fahrenheit and foggy in Grand Marais when we turned onto the Gunflint Trail. In no time, it was sunny and 85°F. The trail is the "driveway" to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. The Gunflint Trail is a 57 mile (92 kilometer) long, 2-lane road through some major wilderness. To go further, you need a canoe. Today, it was sunny and hot. Near the end of the trail, we visited, Chik-wauk Museum, and fished in Gull Lake. When we returned to Grand Marais, the fog was still there and it was 57°. It was a perfect chance to hike around Artist's Point, and fish in Lake Superior.
