Black Hills and More

Monday, June 16, 2008 We had to get an extended permit (no plates yet) for the new Ford Fusion from the dealer. We drove to Murdo, South Dakota and stayed at the Sioux motel. We ate at the GTO café. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 We drove to a scenic overlook and then to Wall Drug. We walked around Wall Drug and ate lunch there. Then we drove to Mount Rushmore and walked around there. We saw a Mountain Goat up close. Then we drove back to Keystone, SD, where we stayed at the Washington Inn. After walking the boardwalk (while it stormed outside), we ate at the Keystone House Family restaurant. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 It stormed halfway through our Iron Mountain crossing through the narrow winding roads and single lane tunnels. We drove to Custer State park and drove the wildlife loop. We saw donkeys, bison, pronghorn antelope, deer and prairie dogs. After stopping at the Bluebell General Store, we went to the Sylvan Lake Lodge where we stayed. We hiked around beautiful Sylvan L...

Summertime

Summer has started and the pace has been busy. I'll hit some highlights. Friday, I got tired of my GM (Pontiac) car problems. I've always driven GM, mostly Grand Am's, and they have stupid issues like the multi-function switch failing ($260) or the security system failing ($375). In the past I've also had head-gasket (total) and transmission (not good) problems. I've complained to GM (and Pontiac) but they don't seem to care about losing a lifetime customer. So, I bought a Ford Fusion. They're rated higher than Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. My Hmong in-laws had a Saturday (triple) event, that included a shaman, whole cow, two whole pigs and several chickens. These animals are used in ceremony and then served for a feast. As I don't care too much for boiled meat, I spent a significant portion of the day grilling various cuts of beef and pork. I found the event both interesting and exhausting. It is a lot of work and very time consuming. Still, how many w...

School's Out!

It's amazing to me that I work in a school. I went to school (including college) for a long time and really didn't enjoy it all that much. Now I work in one! I enjoy my job most of the time, as I work with technology. Still, I was so happy when I packed up and left yesterday! This break will give me a chance to accomplish some things that I need to do.

Does Your Vote Count?

With the electoral college , delegates and such, does your vote really count? Most recently, Hillary Clinton has won the popular vote, though she has lost in delegates to Barack Obama. Perhaps in the United States, we should consider using the popular vote so that the people really do have a say in who gets elected. Remember, Cutris is still running for President in the most massive write-in campaign in history!

Lifetime GM owner, leaving... do you care?‏

Troy Clarke, President, General Motors If I was the president of a company, I would want to know why a lifetime customer was leaving. It's simple, I am dissatisfied with the product and the service. My last four cars were Pontiac Grand Am's. I've also owned a Chevrolet Monza and a 1972 LeManns. Now, my 2004 Grand Am is experiencing its second strange malfunction, I contacted Pontiac to ask for it to be made right. It's all over the Internet, yet again. Since the 1990's people have had trouble with the "passlock" system. The service guy at the dealership said it would cost about $400. He knew what it was. The person from the India call center took my information and a guy called who didn't seem to have any idea what this might be. He told me to go to the dealer and MAYBE they could do something. I just got done paying $260 to replace the "multi-function" switch on this car. The car previous to this had transmission trouble and the one before a...

"Thanks" George!

I would like to "thank" the George W. Bush/Dick Cheney administration for getting the USA into a second war (we were already in Afghanistan) in Iraq by using "misinformation." Thanks for separating yourself from smart, competent people with a conscience, like Colin Powell. Thanks for making money from oil and foreign contracts. Thanks for using indentured servitude (through foreign contractors) to fill labor positions in dangerous parts of the world (like Iraq). Thanks for $4.00 per gallon gas! Thanks for refusing to share the report on global warming until the courts forced it to be shared (just yesterday). Thanks for not cooperating with other nations to reduce greenhouse gases. Thanks for being able to sleep at night knowing that you helped to cause death, injury, and a near collapse of the economy.

Cutris Elevated

Cutris Elevated May 19, 2008 UnAssociated Press Cutris was elevated today, from the position of U.S. Chief Cutris , to Supreme U.S. Chief Cutris . The move was almost as significant as when Cutris was appointed to the Supreme Fort . Can the Presidency be far away?

U.S. Chief Cutris Takes Control

U.S. Chief Cutris ... umm... Cutris , showed why he is the best candidate for the U.S. Presidency today, when he took control. No one is quite sure what exactly he was taking control of, but he looked rather impressive doing it.

Ann Taylor: No Place for Men

Even before I got married, I experienced the uneasy feeling of being brought into stores that I would never go into; were it not for my significant other. One of these stores is called, Ann Taylor. It is a clothing store for women. There is absolutely nothing in the store that could possibly interest a man, except perhaps the women themselves. Unless, of course, perhaps if the man was gay and/or loved fashion and accessories. Any visit to such a store is filled with uneasiness for a typical man. No single guy (unless shopping for a gift for a woman) would ever come to such a place. The female employees there are not going to find any dates if they’re single, as only attached men could be pulled into such a place. I have been led by the hand by my petite wife into such places before. While she may be small, her power over me is great enough that I resist the temptation to flee for the nearest man-type store. Obediently, I follow as she looks through the racks of overpriced crap. Without...

To Whom it May or May Not Concern

If you sell your child, your daughter, to me you are the lowest form of life. If you use your position to extort money, then give 30% back and call it a "gift," don't expect me to be grateful. If you demand that I respect your ways and your traditions, and then you refuse to respect mine, don't expect me to be your friend. If you do these things, you will not have my respect. It is never too late to make things right, but you are stubborn. You have chosen money and pride over me. While I try not to hold grudges, I cannot forget so easily how this hurt.

Presidential Debate

Cutris looked really good in the presidential debate last night. But how did he end up in the Democratic debate when he's an independent?

The Wrong Button

In spite of the training films and doctor's warnings, Kevin pushed the "Wrong" button anyway. Such is the danger of "live" TV.

More Scandal Surrounds Presidential Candidate Cutris

More Scandal Surrounds Presidential Candidate Cutris April 10, 2008 UnAssociated Press Once again, presidential candidate Cutris is involved in a scandal . More photos have surfaced, that show Cutris disobeying rules. The first photograph shows Cutris holding onto a government trespass warning sign. An attorney consulted on the matter, said that it is unlikely that Cutris was actually in violation at the time the picture was taken, as he would probably have to have been behind the sign. The next photo shows Cutris standing beneath a high voltage tower, with a caution sign. When asked about the photo, Cutris told reporters that he had been hiking, and "didn't see" the tower as he posed for a picture. "It's the established political parties," he told the press. "They're afraid that I am going to win the presidential election. They'll do anything to discredit me!" The Cutris campaign seems largely unaffected by the so called scandal. In fact,...

Cutris Sprouts Wood to Promote Book

Cutris Sprouts Wood to Promote Book April 9, 2008 UnAssociated Press In a promotional stunt to plug his new novel, "Cottonwood," Cutris has sprouted wood. The author and presidential candidate told reporters this morning, that he woke up with the wood, but it went away a short time later. Just how a man could turn into a tree and then back into a man is still under investigation. The U.S. Forest Service has been called to head up the case.

Cutris Sells Real Estate on Mars!

Cutris Sells Real Estate on Mars! April 2, 2008 UnAssociated Press Presidential candidate Cutris has been absent from public view lately, but was recently seen selling real estate on the planet Mars! "It's a brand new market!" said Cutris . "I haven't sold too many plots yet, but it's only a matter of time." One thing is for sure, Cutris continues to be on the cutting edge.

Long Meadow Lake Hike

Today I went hiking on the proposed state trail in the Long Meadow Lake unit of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Much of the time I wasn't actually on any trails, but rather I was hiking through the woods. The snow melt has caused a lot of flooding, and my knee boots were a necessity. The first picture shows a huge cottonwood tree that tipped over. I'm there to give some perspective to the size of the tree. The second picture shows a couple of the two dozen or so White-tailed deer I saw. Three of them were actually following me for awhile, as they can get rather curious when they don't think you are a threat.

Bush & Cheney, with or without US

President George W. Bush marked yesterday's anniversary of year five in the Iraq war, by saying that he made the right decision. This after the May 1, 2003 "Mission Accomplished" speech, 4,000 dead U.S. soldiers, many more casualties, 80,000 dead Iraqi civilians, billions of dollars spent, our economy faltering, gas at an all time high, Al-Qaeda now in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan still burning (on the second burner), and NO WEAPONS OF MASS DISTRUCTION! Way to stick to your guns there George... When vice-president DICK Cheney was asked (courtesy of ABC) about recent polls that show about two-thirds of Americans saying the fight in Iraq is not worth it, Cheney replied, "So?" "You don't care what the American people think?" Martha Raddatz asked the vice-president. "You can't be blown off course by polls," said Cheney, who is currently touring the Middle East. Wow... how can you be so stupidly arrogant? Unless you are rich and out-of-tou...

Presidential Candidate Cutris Photos

Presidential Candidate Cutris Photos March 10, 2008 UnAssociated Press Presidential candidate Cutris is proving to be extremely unorthodox, as he has been photographed recently with Republican John McCain, and Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. "I'm just having a good time!" Cutris told reporters over the weekend. Though he consented to be photographed with President George W. Bush and John McCain, the look on Cutris' face seems to betray his true feelings. Cutris looks into the distance with Hillary Clinton. The two candidates seem to get along quite well, leading to the question of whether they may join forces. Cutris ponders something that Obama said. It's "thumbs up" for the Cutris campaign!

Man vs. Bacteria

In the war of man vs. bacteria, bacteria started out by historically kicking our asses. Then, antibiotics turned the tables on the little bugs, and in sheer numbers of killed and destroyed, man has taken the lead. Still, how many bacteria does it take to equal one human being? Chances are, bacteria will outlive, overtake and pass by human beings within our ever-changing, and growing toxic world. What if in it's resistance to drugs, a certain type of bacteria had a super growth burst and they were the size of Cocker Spaniels? They got into your house from somewhere, and liked to hang around the kitchen and bathroom. You'd have to smash them with a club, which could be hard on the furniture, but then… what choice would you have? At least if they grew to that size, you could always shoot threatening bacteria. It might take them awhile to develop an immunity to bullets.

Great Horned Owl

Yesterday while hiking in the Bloomington Ferry Unit of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, we were fortunate to find a Great Horned Owl.

Diversity

As a volunteer park ranger in the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, I've seen firsthand how a lot of diversity is generally good for the environment. In contrast, any group that overpopulates puts a strain on the ecosystem. Diversity in human populations is in my opinion, also a good thing. What isn't good is all of the bickering that goes on between certain groups. Human beings were originated from common ancestors, which is why our genetic material is so similar. Likely the nomadic way of life in the early days caused geographical separations between populations that resulted in genetic separations, which resulted in physical differences. Still, some of the great societies of the past were multi-racial. With the advances in travel and technology, it seems that racial blending will only continue to grow. That brings up an interesting question. Will the blending of the races actually reduce the diversity as the human population becomes multiracial? Perhaps, yet genetic...

U.S. Deploys Musicians to North Korea

In a wonderful deviation from what we might usually expect of international politics, the New York Philharmonic played a concert in Pyongyang, North Korea today. There were no soldiers, no guns and no politics. The orchestra played and was well received by those in attendance. The concert was televised live, which was rather unusual in the secretive confines of North Korea. It makes me wonder what would happen to the world if countries sent "invading" musicians instead of soldiers to settle disputes. With all of the international conflicts, I was given a bit of hope today. The people of North Korea shown on the TV news were not monsters, goose-stepping to some outdated communist war march. The musicians were not kicking in doors of people's houses in some remote village. They were all just people, drawn together by music and a long overdue cultural exchange. How fantastic is that?

LUNAR Eclipse

In case you missed last night's lunar eclipse, here is a picture I took. It was a spectacular full moon anyway, the eclipse was pretty awesome.

Mind Dump

I once spoke to a friend who works in the psychology field. Both of us agreed with a recent article that surmised that nearly every human being probably suffers from some form of post-traumatic-stress. I recently spoke to one of my bosses whom I've known for a long time. He thought I seemed happier than I used to. I told him that it was mostly an attitude I'd gotten when things looked bad and those two eagles flew over my head and the wind whispered in their wings. Right about then, I decided that I was the luckiest man alive. Realistically, I had changed my entire life to chase a dream and try to find happiness. That action, however, brought me to where I am now –which is a much happier “place.” My band is recording some of our 150something original songs. It’s work. We can usually get one song down in an evening. Lately the recordings have been great. I think we’re learning how to manage everything in the process. Once I get a copyright on a CD’s worth (at least the ones I wr...

Computer Support

I needed a power supply for a laptop. It's under warranty. I looked up the warranty to be sure. I went on HP's website to setup a case, as I've done that before and it eliminates the language barrier. After going around in circles on the website, I finally broke down and called HP. After being questioned and transferred in circles, I finally got "John" from India to help me. I gave John the serial number, and I was then told the warranty had expired. I was also told it was a different model than I was calling about. Eventually, John figured out that the warranty is good for almost two more years. Then I was asked numerous questions about the problem, which is that the power supply doesn't work but an identical power supply does work. Eventually John decided to order me a new power supply. This took another ten minutes while I was on hold. Last week I had an onsite repair of a desktop. It took two trips each by two separate technicians and about 14 phone messag...

Is it More Violent Now?

All one has to do, is look at the news headlines to ask himself are things more violent now than they used to be? The answer to that is difficult. We may think so, based on our concept of how things were a few decades ago, as portrayed on TV sitcoms. Yet is this an accurate picture? What about the "wild west?" Didn't people get shot and hanged in a lawless society? What about the racism, lynching and wars of our history? What about the Roman Coliseum and the atrocities performed there in the name of "entertainment?" What about bull-baiting, bear-baiting, dog fighting, cock fighting and bare knuckle brawls? Can we be sure things are more violent now? While there is a lot of preaching and pressure about kindness and tolerance, we live in a society where it seems that every few weeks some coward is in the news for shooting unarmed people in a public place. The local news in the Twin Cities recently had a story about a woman who beat a 4-year-old boy to death, while...

Cutris Breaks Sound Barrier

Cutris Breaks Sound Barrier February 8, 2008 UnAssociated Press A sonic boom was heard across the Minnesota River Valley early this morning, and from all accounts, it was due to presidential candidate, Cutris, breaking the sound barrier. Apparently Cutris had taken his bicycle out for an early morning ride, and decided to put it in high gear to see how fast he could go. "It was snowing at the time, which made it kind of hard," said Cutris to a reporter from CNN. "I just started peddling as fast as I could. Pretty soon I was going so fast that I lost control of the bike on the icy road and started sliding even faster!" Cutris eventually recovered control of the bicycle, but not before a sonic boom rang out in the early morning, signaling that he had exceeded the speed of sound. Asked if he would try to repeat the feat for the Guinness Book of World Records, Cutris said, "I don't think so. It was a little scary going that fast on my bike, even though it...

Inconsistent Policies

I have more than one job. One of them has expressed a "concern" about my blog. In the meantime, the coworker with a new baby has a blog about the baby and other coworkers are adding messages to it during work hours. This, apparently is acceptable. I have no problem with the baby blog, in fact it is a fantastic idea. I don't like the subjective nature of what is or is not acceptable. With no clear written policy (just vague policy), it allows someone to "play god" and decide what is O.K. and what isn't. How intrusive should this get? If in the course of my job I see that an administrator has church materials on a work computer should I report it? I hate that idea. People need a little bit of freedom. If the work is getting done, what is the problem?

Recycling: Who's Not Doing Their Job?

My yogurt cup has a recyclable symbol on the bottom, but the person on TV says only plastic bottles with necks can be recycled. So who's not doing their job? I rinse them out and put them in the recycler. I'm not breaking down the process on my end.

Super Tuesday

Presidential candidate Cutris was asked about what he did on Super Tuesday, and if he had participated in the caucuses in his home state of Minnesota. "The caucus system," Cutris replied, "is setup to exclude third-party, or independent party candidates." It gives people a sense that they are actually choosing the presidential candidates, though out of the 300+ million people in the United States, they have the choice between 3 or 4 candidates within 2 parties. None of the candidates is particularly "average," in income or lifestyle. As far as what I did, I took care of personal business, including my laundry." Cutris continues to insist that he is running for president and has neither pulled out of the race, nor has he endorsed any other candidates.

Key Cutris Staffer Revealed

A key Cutris campaign staffer was revealed today. Peach, or Peetch, is a key component in the Cutris campaign. Shown here with Cutris , Peach handles updates and UnAssociated Press releases during weekdays, when Cutris is working his regular job. Since Cutris has several jobs, Peach is an important part of this campaign. "He's a fine drummer too!" said Cutris , who has been in a band with Pete and Dave for over a decade.

Stone Shack

Since the first mention of Kevin's shack , to the creation of Shack & Pasture Magazine , Cutris has always loved touring shacks all over the country. Here is a picture of Cutris in the doorway of a lovely stone shack from the 1800's. "It's a bit small and needs a little fixing up," said Cutris , "but it is still a nice shack, from an era when shacks were built with pride."

Figure Skating

Not much was on TV last night, and my fiancée wanted to watch figure skating. It was pretty boring for me, on account of me being a man. I think maybe because there was no checking or puck and the guys talking about what was going on seemed like they had masculinity issues. I had no point of reference. I was pretty lost and bored. I did think the "triple-klutz" was pretty impressive though. It's a good thing she likes football too...

Federal Rebate

I have mixed feelings regarding the federal rebate program. As a way to "jump-start" the economy, I feel that it might cost us all money, since it will add to the national debt, and the American tax payers are ultimately responsible for paying that off. Will tax payers be required to claim the rebate as income on their 2008 tax returns? Of course it will be nice to receive a check, but instead of paying for a huge program to figure out who gets how much, and then cut checks for everyone, wouldn't a tax break be more financially responsible? Unemployment benefits are not going to be extended, and too many people are out of work. Thanks to Reaganomics, they also have to pay taxes on their unemployment benefits. Of course, as long as health coverage is the responsibility of employers, the job situation is likely to get worse. National health care could do a lot to stimulate more jobs, but it isn't likely to happen anytime soon. - Cutris

Cutris Under Attack

Cutris Under Attack January 25, 2008 UnAssociated Press As with any political campaign that is gaining strength, the Cutris campaign and it's primary mouthpiece, the i am cutis blog is under attack. Those who are worried about the campaign are trying to destroy Cutris' reputation and shutdown the blog. A publicist representing Cutris put a positive spin on it Thursday night. "This controversy, if brought out in the open could be exactly what this campaign needs," he said. "The public loves a good David vs. Goliath story, especially if they can relate to the people involved."

Blog Interest

I want to thank those who have taken such an interest in my blog recently. It's nice to know that you take the time to see what I'm up to. This blog started out in 2005, as a way to showcase my writing. My new novel "Cottonwood" is finished, and I am currently trying to market it. Along the way, this blog has been teaching me valuable skills in webpage design. I'm not an HTML expert by any means, but this experience has certainly increased my knowledge significantly. I've also become aware that certain parties can use your blog against you if you aren't careful. I generally won't write anything that I would be embarrassed to have my parents read. I also "Sanitize," or change names and information to keep others anonymous. Still, despite being protected by the first amendment of the United States Constitution, blogging is a risky venture at times. Employers and others have a habit of finding things wrong with blogging. Just the same, there are...

-13

This morning the temperature was -13 degrees Fahrenheit (-25 Celsius). I live just south of Minneapolis. Up in the northern part of the state it is closer to -30. People who don't live in cold climates don't understand how we "can stand it!" Personally, I have a hard time with extremely hot temperatures. Even if it might be "too cold" to go outside (on some winter days), in some places it is too hot to go outside in the summer. People in northern climates, such as Minnesota, enjoy winter sports like, skating, hockey, skiing, sledding, ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and my personal favorite, hiking. I lived for a short time in Providence, RI. Never before did I hear people complain about the weather so much as I did out east. An inch (2.54 centimeters) of snow crippled the city. The airport closed and citizens stocked up on bread and pasta. In Minnesota, after a foot of snow, we shovel out and go to work. Out east they think 20 degrees is cold. In th...

Cutris may have found Running-Mate!

Cutris may have found Running-Mate! January 22, 2008 UnAssociated Press Cutris may have found his vice-presidential running-mate. After pouring through numerous applications and correspondence, it appears that the front runner is Congressman Bruno Bear , who is an independent from the state of Alaska. "I like Bruno very much," Cutris said in an interview Tuesday morning. "I think he has the kind of no-nonsense strength and courage necessary to make some of the changes that are needed to rebuild America." Congressman Bear is well known for his staunch support of environmental initiatives, which seems to sit well with Cutris . While an official announcement has not been made and Cutris insists that he is still actively searching, inside sources say that Congressman Bear is the only candidate that stands out so far.

CUTRIS FOR PRESIDENT!

It's time to leave the Bush. Dicks with ties to oil and Halliburton, are making lots of money. Meanwhile, people are dying in overseas wars. The average American people are losing money, jobs and their homes. World opinion of the United States is low. The value of the dollar is low. The country is in debt and foreign interests are buying our land and companies. The Dicks and Bushes aren't smart enough to see that when the majority falls, their foundations will collapse. They only care about lining their pockets with profits. Yes, it's time to leave the Bush. So what's next? Do you want to vote for a white-haired Bush clone? Do you want more Republican policies that line the pockets of the rich at the expense of the general population? Do you want a Democrat that is defined by the color of his skin or by the type of genitals she has? Is the party progressive, or missing the point altogether? Our country's history is both bloody and incomplete. The story of those who ...

Bush Snuggles with Saudis

Bush Snuggles with Saudis January 16, 2008 UnAssociated Press President George W. Bush was in Saudi Arabia today, pleading with self-made "royalty" to lower prices on oil exports to the USA. Bush also held hands with a prince, and was seen kissing a man. "He let me play with his sword!" an excited Bush said afterward.

Cloverfield -prescreen

I went to a pre-screening of the movie Cloverfield last evening. Since I saw it before most people, I thought I would review it for you. I thought the beginning was tedious. When the action finally started, I was dizzy from the continuous bouncing of the single camera it was witnessed through. No details were revealed, since the attack was recorded by some half-wit, who decided to carry a camera with a never ending battery and tape while he was running all over Manhattan away from monsters. I heard a few people on the way out, who thought it was "so real," due to the amature camera look -which has been done in The Blair Witch Project , and masterfully done in 84 Charlie Mopic . Don't get too attached to the characters in this movie, as it reads like a snuff novel. All in all, it might be worth renting the video, but I would feel ripped-off if I paid full theater prices.

Box Elder Bug Finds Freedom

Many of us have had the unpleasant experience of Box Elder Bugs or Asian Lady Bugs infesting the cracks and crevices of our homes or workplace in the late fall when the weather gets cool. Looking for a place to come in from the cold, thousands of these insects can swarm in through the tiniest cracks or openings. In January here in Minnesota, it is fairly uncommon for insects such as these to still be plaguing us. At work, however, I still see the occasional Box Elder Bug flying across the room or landing on my computer screen. On Sunday, I found one in my house! Now I could have "dispatched" this little insect, by crushing it, or flushing it down the toilet. For some reason, however, I took pity on the little guy. Why my sudden change of heart regarding this particular pest, I don't know. Instead of killing it, I caught the little guy and brought it to my deck door and tossed it out onto the deck. The bug seemed to enjoy its new-found freedom, as I reintroduced it to its ...

Trees Endorse "Conglomo-racial" Candidate

Trees Endorse "Conglomo-racial" Candidate January 14, 2008 UnAssociated Press While Barack Obama is attacking Hillary Clinton over her attack on him by attacking Martin Luther King Jr's legacy, conglomo-racial presidential candidate Cutris , has gotten the endorsement of trees. Cutris said he recognizes both Martin Luther King Jr's contributions to Civil Rights, as well as the fact that President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Apparently trees everywhere were impressed by the announcement, as they too are trying to achieve equality in a world wrought with clear-cutting and wholesale tree destruction. Cutris then told a national audience that his great great great great grandfather was half tree, and he can sympathize with their plight. Cutris also claims to be half of all 961 million races, including being half Brown Bear and three-quarters Bald Eagle. http://wcco.com/national/race.obama.clinton.2.629026.html

Central Wilkie

Today we hiked Central Wilkie. We saw Bald Eagles and White-tailed Deer. We also saw an old silo foundation. Here are some pictures.

Presidential Candidate Pictured with Ghosts!

Presidential Candidate Pictured with Ghosts! January 9, 2008 UnAssociated Press Yesterday's picture of Presidential Candidate Cutris , had a mysterious apparition in the lower left portion of the photograph. Some surmised that supernatural powers are behind the huge rise in Cutris' popularity. These forces may even have been at work on Oprah, when she decided to endorse Cutris for president in 2008. Further studies of past Cutris photographs, have revealed that ghostly apparitions have appeared in other pictures of Cutris . Paranormal experts have been consulted to explain this strange phenomena, but have yet to come to any concrete conclusions.

Oprah Backs Cutris

Oprah Backs Cutris January 8, 2008 In a surprise move today, Oprah Winfrey rescinded her endorsement of Barack Obama, and threw it firmly behind Independent Presidential Candidate, Cutris . Since Oprah's endorsement, Cutris has gone up 816.38 pts. in the latest Shack & Pasture Magazine straw poll.

Using Things the Wrong Way is...

As street culture seems to be popular with teenagers these days, so is the trend of using and wearing things in a way contrary to how they were designed to be used. Functionality isn't important here. Appearance is what matters. Older people (i.e. those over 20 years old); will not be able to fully understand, just as those who haven't bought into street culture will not understand why crime, drug use, having illegitimate children and killing someone could make you "important." Regarding the phenomena of using things "the wrong way," I will touch on a few. Originally called a "Rally Cap," wearing your baseball cap inside out, upside-down and/or sideways, was a way to encourage a losing team to make a comeback late in a game. Now, it is "the style," as dictated by street culture. Wearing your pants so that the crotch is below your knees, your butt and/or underwear sticks out, or you have to walk around holding them up because of their exce...

Cutris Searches for Running-Mate for Presidential Election

Presidential candidate Cutris , is currently searching for a suitable running-mate in his bid for the White House in 2008. Interested persons should forward their resume and introductory letter to Cutris .

Converting my paper transcript to an electronic pdf

I needed to send a college transcript for a job I applied for. I thought I would need to mail it, though there is a place to upload on the employer's website. The University has a way to access transcripts electronically, but apparently if you are "ancient" like me, they don't offer the service. So, I used the scanner here at work to scan a paper copy of my transcript. Then I saved it as .doc, even though I thought a .pdf file would be best. I found no way to convert using Adobe or any other program that I have here. I even accessed the online help and it only talked about Mac. So, I used Metacrawler to search for "convert .doc to .pdf" and found a free conversion on the WWW. So, I have now uploaded a pdf file of my transcript to the prospective employer. Whew!

With the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates all in Iowa, people are beginning to ask, "where is (Independent) presidential candidate Cutris ? The answer... Cutris is at work fixing computer technology. Cutris does not take off for such things as caucuses. "Caucuses are for wussies," Cutris said when asked if he was interested in the goings on in Iowa. "I have real work to do, just like what I will do when I win the presidential election in November. Bush and Cheney have crapped things up so bad, I'll be lucky if I can get away for any 'me time' at all!" "Caucusing is a waste of time and money. I know that's how 'you get elected,' but I have something to ask the American people. Do you want me to fix America or not? If you do, then we need to focus on a massive 'write in' campaign to get me elected. That's all there is to it! I have work to do now, I'm sorry but you'll have to leave."
