I've got dinner on hold while everybody else gets showers. So, I decided to watch some cartoons. It cracks me up that there are all of these geriatric commercials during classic cartoons. When I was a kid, watching the same cartoons, it was about sugar frosted cereal.

I turned on the classic cartoon channel this morning and was not disappointed! After an episode of Klondike Kat, I was treated to Rudy Giuliani playing the villain on an Underdog episode!

Do you know who was cool? Popeye ! He didn't use steroids, but after a can of spinachk he could beat up Bluto Lesnar ! And he was always yelling to be blown down! You don't get any cooler than that...

It's fun watching the old cartoons that I liked, with my son. But I did notice, that in the first cartoon Yosemite Sam kept getting sent to hell. In the second cartoon, a worm got drunk. There are some ideas in the old cartoons that were thought to be funny and innocent, that are now considered inappropriate today. Yet for all of the political correctness and censorship that is going on, I don't think society is behaving any better for it.

It's pretty cool that my 10 year old son likes to watch the same cartoons that I did. But, there is a definite difference in the commercials. I seem to remember a lot of cereal commercials with prizes inside when I was growing up. Now, the commercials are about prescription drugs to prolong your life with less pain. Also popular are insurance commercials. I guess that probably means there are more people my age watching Looney Tunes these days, than there are my son's age...

There I was waiting on my dot to checkout. In front of me was a roadrunner! He moved up to the register, so I started moving up to the next dot. Suddenly a coyote pushed me out of the way and WAMM! He got hit by an anvil! That coyote is a hero!
