TSA Manager said He was Told to Profile Somalis

http://www.mprnews.org/story/2016/04/27/tsa-manager-says-he-was-told-to-profile-somalis-msp-airport

My sense of outrage over this story has been squelched  by the numerous news stories regarding Somalis found guilty of trying to aid ISIS.

http://www.startribune.com/feds-charge-another-somali-youth-with-supporting-isil-terrorists/361354001/

In other words, if Swedes were found guilty of aiding ISIS, I would expect that they would be profiled; in order to keep the larger population safe.

I'm sorry if this does not sound politically correct, but it seems both practical and logical.

Justin Bieber Should Shut Up

I know very little about Justin Bieber except he seems to get in trouble a lot. Now he has decided to be disrespectful to Prince who passed away just yesterday. Some people should just shut up and Bieber is one of them.

This reporter couldn't believe anyone was watching "Live," so after Michael Strahan left that was just the last nail-in-the-coffin. Kelly Ripa is now also missing from the show; so maybe it does have a chance of continuing after all.

CuTRis Too Good Looking for Good Roles

CuTRis Too Good Looking for Good Roles
UnAssociated Press

April 14, 2016

CuTRis Too Beautiful?
Actors such as Rob Lowe have complained about being too good looking to land good acting roles. More recently, actress Charlize Theron said she has lost good roles for being too pretty. As sad as it is for these people to actually come right out and say they are so beautiful that they are discriminated against, The UnAssociated Press feels compelled to mention that CuTRis, though he has not (openly) said so during interviews, is certainly the most likely of anyone to be passed by for the good roles if this is indeed the trend in Hollywood. The UAP recently asked CuTRis if he feels that this is a problem for him in the acting business. CuTRis responded by saying, "No, I don't think so. I'm no better looking than the next guy."
So we would like to say, Sorry all you too beautiful people, but if CuTRis isn't claiming beauty bias, then why are you?"

What Are You Teaching Your Children?

Parents... what are you teaching your children? Are you reading to them? Are you teaching them how to add and subtract? Are you teaching them that police are people who can help you when you are in trouble? Are you teaching them to respect others and to be kind to people and animals? Are you teaching them to do well in school? Are you teaching them that it is important to tell the truth? Are you teaching them that everyone has rights and responsibilities? Are you teaching them that they need to set goals and go after them? Are you teaching them to avoid crime, drugs and gangs? Have you told them that blaming others, blaming racial differences and dwelling on the past will make them unhappy? Are you spending time with them? Do you tell them that you love them? Have you told them that it is important to work hard and have a good work ethic?

If not, WHY?

Multiple Versions of "Truth" May Explain Racial Tensions

http://kstp.com/news/audio-interviews-rayann-hayes-mark-ringgenberg-dustin-schwarze-michael-trullinger-jamar-clark-case/4096111/

When the woman at the center of the Jamar Clark case finally made a statement after the officers involved in the shooting were cleared, her story has changed from the original story that she told to police. We know that there are multiple versions because the news stations have now put the recordings side-by-side. When you do not know what the truth is and you change it depending on to whom and when you are recounting it, how can any of it be believed? Isn't this what the racial tension is based in? There are multiple versions of the "truth;" and too many people who have never learned that telling the truth is important. If you have learned that lying is a means to get your own desired outcome, you are (falsely) causing the mistrust that is harming the society that our children will inherit from us. That puts those who are unable to tell the factual truth at the source of the problem.

Tarzan Legacy

I've begun reading my grandfather's Tarzan books; starting with I think the first one, "Tarzan of the Apes." It starts with Tarzan's parents and his adoption by Kala of the Apes (1914). The book has a note written inside from a friend of my grandfather dated November 1916. At that time grandpa would have been 13. The books were read by my father (and recently read again by him). I have begun reading these myself and I hope to give them to my son who loves reading. One interesting side-note, Grandpa Dubs would be 113 if he was still alive. I still remember when he gave the books to me prior to his death in 1981. He (correctly) told me that he thought I would value them.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

My wife and I went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the cheap theater and we both thought it was great! The writers were smart enough to build it so it resembled the original movie—complete with a bar scene and Han Solo shooting a guy without looking at him and much battling. The movie sets you up for another when Luke Skywalker appears in the last scene. I recommend it for anyone—but especially those of us old enough to remember the original!

Freedom of Speech No Longer Guaranteed if White

The idea of Freedom of Speech appears to be lost in the USA for those who are white. White People should also not wear dreadlocks, as this is only for Black People. If you are white, you cannot say whatever you like (also known as Freedom of Speech) because it may cost you your job—if people of another race decide it was inappropriate. Whether the comments were true or false is irrelevant. The fact that someone of another race took offense makes you guilty and a racist. Don't expect a second chance. You will be convicted in a court of public opinion. It is best to keep your mouth shut and try to avoid the stress as others seek someone like you to blame for the crumbling social structure and social unrest of misdirected anger. Your heartless speech about truth and justice will not stop the street violence, the anger at police or the racial tension. It will only get you into trouble. While others may walk through public areas speaking freely in loud voices, you should keep quiet. You must bear the burden of injustices that were perpetrated long ago. For you, Freedom of Speech is long gone.
