Morning After the Blizzard

When the power went off this morning between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., the smoke alarms also briefly went off after they were disconnected by the outage. I asked my wife and son if they heard it, both replied no. My son asked why only dad heard it. I replied that dads have thousands of years of experience jumping up in the middle of the night to grab a stick and fight off wild beasts.
