Presidential Debate Prediction

Biden: You need to get control of the pandemic.

Trump: You're dumb.

Biden: We need to ensure affordable health care for all.

Trump: You're a loser.

Biden: I will work to unite the country.

Trump: The country is in great shape! If you vote for Sleepy Joe, you're voting for disaster.

The Story of Sears

Once there was a company called Sears. You could use a book, or "catalog" Sears published to select items to purchase. Then you could mail your order with a check or money order to Sears, and your package would be delivered to your house.
Eventually, Sears relied on (brick and mortar) stores that people came to, to buy things.
Then when everyone was shopping on the Internet, a company called Amazon had items for sale on their website. Customers could select what they wanted to buy and pay with a credit card. Then the package would be delivered to their house.
This new idea for selling things eventually put Sears out of business...

Made in Japan

I can remember when I was a small child that "made in Japan" meant "cheap junk." Now, made in Japan means it's the good stuff.

Capitalism Pay

Capitalism is not a bad thing. CEO's making 300% more than the other employees is.

Grilled Steelhead with Zucchini and Noodles

Zucchini Pit

My compost pit is like one of those surprise grab bags. I never know what is going to grow in there each year. This year it has become a zucchini producing factory.

New Leadership

Years ago when the USA was fighting Saddam Hussein, I recall thinking that George Bush, it doesn't matter which one, it was basically the same, and Saddam, both held themselves higher than the people who were dying. Now as one of the leaders of our country who had a conscience has left us, we remain here with a president who is morally and mentally incompetent. A man who doesn't care if a few thousand people die of COVID-19. And we desperately need a new leader. Enough said.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

I Can Cook

Without any formal training, it appears that I know how to cook. At least I have very few complaints from those who have to eat it.

Open-Faced Chicken Sandwiches

Hypocrisy in the USA

If 100 children get shot, killed or maimed, Americans don't notice. The U.S. media spends little to no time reporting it. Yet if there is a rumor that a black man was killed by a police officer, rioting begins immediately. The hypocrisy is astounding.

Stir Fry

Waffles with Bacon and Fresh Fruit

Put Yourself in Your Rhetoric

I am totally in favor of any private citizen who wants to give their personal property back to the descendants of the indigenous people of America. Furthermore, I am completely in favor of any private citizen who wants to give their personal monetary funds to the descendants of people who were enslaved in America 155 years ago. I applaud your good will. I expect that these good things will begin to happen very soon, based on all of the social media postings about these very important subjects.

Trump Asks Voters to Vote by Mail and Again In-Person

The trump has now advised everyone to vote twice. Once by mail, and then again in person. Doing so is illegal. It also defeats the purpose of mail-in voting in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. So I'm going to go one better. I plan on voting on horseback wearing a tutu. Not only is it not illegal, but it is a more intelligent option than the one the president has advised.

When You Climb to the Top from the Bottom

Today the Minnesota Historical Society paid out my vacation time to complete my COVID-19 layoff. So I guess I'm on vacation this week. That's what I'll have to tell the unemployment office. As I was about to feel depressed, I saw my reflection in the mirror. At 165 lbs., and tanned bronze, I noticed how good being "on vacation" all summer looked on me. I'd just returned from biking with my son too. Today I biked up a dirt hill so long and so steep that my front tire was coming off the ground and my back tire was spinning. I wasn't sure I could make it up to the top. But I did. As great as it is to have a job, sitting on your butt fixing computers through a virtual network doesn't contribute to good health. Good health is worth more than anything; as I learned in February. I think I've got this...
