Autumn Meadowhawk

American Lotus!

Packing up the canoe and fishing gear takes some time. The 2 mile drive to the closest lake does not. But we had fun. The Bald Eagle that we saw a few times passed overhead too quickly for a picture. But the American Water Lotus plants were absolutely stunning!

Turtle Laying Eggs

This turtle has decided to lay eggs in our backyard.   The next morning, I barely could see the nest it was covered so well. By late morning, a squirrel had dug up the nest and stole all the eggs. I despise squirrels.
