Vaccines and Politics

Recently, when I was editing my book "Covid Time," for the last time before publishing, I couldn't help but notice all of the crazy things that we as a people have been through--especially since the pandemic. So I was kind of lost in thought, when a co-worker was talking about having covid during a virtual meeting. I offhandedly said "at least it's not killing people the way it was originally--I think due to the vaccine." The supervisor, who referred to COVID-19 as "The Big C," (which is a reference to cancer in my world) expertly moved away from the issue, and I couldn't help but think I had made a stupid political faux pas. Lost in thought about everything we've been through, and all the people we have lost, and all of the stupid political decisions that had been made on both sides, it slipped my mind how politically charged the whole idea of vaccination has become. Science cannot be talked about any longer, because of a faction on the p...

Vaccine Drones

We just got our flu and covid vaccines. Then when we were driving home, drones were following us. Well, a drone was following me. Bill Gates was on a bicycle following my son. But we are both in the same car.

Vaccines!

Since getting both my COVID-19 and flu shots on Friday, I've become twice as fertile, government drones follow me everywhere, and the nanodes have allowed me to defy time and space. And yet, some people are still afraid of vaccinations...

COVID-19 Expiration Date

On May 11, 2023, Emergency Declarations for COVID-19, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, expire. Along with this, Title 42 also expires. Title 42 is a public health law from 1944, that allows authorities to stop immigration to the U.S. if there is the existence of any communicable disease (in this case COVID-19) that could spread to the American population.

Thanksgiving 2022

As we celebrate Thanksgiving 2022, there are things to be thankful for and things to remember. My family will be getting together in larger numbers than we have for two years. My wife’s family is missing grandpa (dad) and grandma (mom), and has chosen to wait for Christmas to get together. Not that it is over yet, but we’ve been through a pandemic. Life has changed since 2019. Some family and friends have passed. Those of us who are left may feel older. There were so many struggles—and some of them continue. We all seem to know someone who left us during the pandemic. Some of us lost our jobs, me included. But there were some positives. We’re more conscious of masking and staying home if sick. Some of us have new jobs, me included. And now, we ease back into the holidays, still wary of COVID-19, influenza and RSV. Amidst the daily news of shootings, high prices, wars, partisan politics, shortages and those who keep instigating racial discord, we continue on. We celebrate an American...

Get Vaccinated

Yesterday afternoon I got my flu shot in one arm, and my Omicron covid booster in the other arm. So today it turns out, that for some reason I am twice as fertile, and suddenly the government can't track me anymore!

COVID-19 Cases High

COVID-19 cases are currently very high and the variants are extremely contagious. People are getting less sick; mostly due to the vaccine. But despite how most people are behaving, this is NOT over.

COVID-19 Surge

I'm watching the news, and apparently covid isn't over! In fact, there is a surge in new cases. So, even though me and my family are some of the last holdouts to keep wearing masks, I guess we're not stupid after all...

My Mask is My Business

The guy at the grocery store was clearly upset that I was wearing a mask (since he wasn't). I could tell when he looked at me and shook his head. Later, he checked out in front of me; and after he was done arguing with the cashier, I let him know that his cheese had fallen on the floor-before he pushed his cart away and left it behind...

Deltacron

Deltacron, what's that flower you have on? Could it be a worn-out mask from days gone by? And did I hear you say, you'd be appearing again one day, to make more people sick and maybe die?

100 Pack of Disposable Masks

These look like the kind the clinic gave me!

Masks or Not?

Today the clinic told me my cloth mask isn't good enough anymore, the school district is talking about no longer requiring masks, and I think the Federal government is planning to send us all N95 masks. I'm so glad everything has been thought through and all are on the "same page..."

'Tis the Season to Make Choices (COVID-19)

'Tis the season to make choices. My family reluctantly made the choice not to go to a Christmas party, after hearing that people who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine have chosen not to get vaccinated. It is disappointing, but the pandemic is real and the virus is still killing people. As I write this, the state of Minnesota has passed 10,000 deaths (and climbing). The United States is just a few thousand away from reaching 800,000 deaths from the virus. The world death total has exceeded 5 million. Each new case, means that the virus has released its own genetic material into the cells of the infected individual. So, while the vaccine is not changing people's DNA, the SARS-CoV-2 virus is directly interacting with the cells of infected individuals and changing how those cells function. While the vaccine does not scare me, the virus does. Each time it infects a new organism (or person), it can mutate into a slightly new version of the virus. I know why I'm making my choi...

Aaron Rodgers Vaccine Allergy

1st Time Back to MNHS

Yesterday was American Indian Family Day at the Minnesota History Museum. I had not been in the building since being laid off a year-and-a-half ago. When I worked in IT, for MNHS, my family attended many events; and we went to as many of the sites as time would allow. I'm always somewhat puzzled, by the fact that I almost never see anyone on staff at the events unless they are working or directly related to that particular event. Out of the six or so directors, I only saw one. I get the impression morale is not very good, and I can only imagine (how it is there) after nearly half of the staff were let go, and only a few were allowed to return. Regardless, we had a good time. I was a bit surprised that there weren't more people there. After all, admission and parking were free. I can't say whether that was a lack of Interest or whether it was a lack of publicity.

Longest Job

COVID-19 caused me to be furloughed from my part-time job. But now I'm back doing live TV.

Thanks Anti-Vaxxers...

I would like to thank the anti-vaxxers for contributing to the spread of COVID-19, and subsequently my father-in-law being sent to the hospital a few blocks from the one he's supposed to go to; that has his medical records--because of "COVID protocol." Thank you for getting your scientific information from a Facebook page run by a guy who doesn't work, who claims to know that the vaccine makes you sterile. Because why get your information from the Mayo Clinic, the CDC or WHO, when you can get it from an unemployed loser with a 6th grade education? Thanks for endangering lives and keeping the pandemic strong and alive in our future! Your contribution is not lost on me!
