Death of a Garden Eater

The "dad signal" went up and my wife was shouting about something, and when I asked her what was going on, she had her bug fighting stick, which she says is just to push the plants aside, but I know a bug fighting stick when I see one! She said there was a small rabbit in her garden laying dead on its side by her spinach. I'm the only one who grows spinach, so I told her I didn't want to deal with the dead rabbit. Then I got that look . Because of course I'm supposed to be the one to go deal with it. But then she cracked me up by telling me we should send in a probe! Suddenly I was in a Star Trek episode. I told her to grab a bag and I went and got a stick. I found the rabbit laying next to her carrots, aka, spinach. So I fished it out with the stick and then put it in the bag to put in the garbage. Yay dad!

Spock Pancake

Do you remember that time Spock was attacked by a pancake with barbecue sauce on it?

New Leadership Needed

"That is a peaceful, sovereign society captain. No I don't think we should attack." "Tell you what, let's go down to sickbay, and Spock can drive the ship..."

Answer Annoying Calls

I tried the Star Trek thing this morning. My son gave me his phone because he didn't recognize the number. I answered and somebody started speaking in Spanish so I answered using the language in (green in) the picture. Whoever it was soon hung up.

U.S. Looks to Space for Intelligence

U.S. Looks to Space for Intelligence UnAssociated Press August 16, 2020 The US Space Force is on a mission to find intelligent life in outer space! Presumably because it is so hard to find on Earth. In other news, a transporter malfunction aboard the Starship Enterprise, caused Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump to become blended into a single, perfect political candidate! Unfortunately the two sides were unable to agree when to breathe, and nearly suffocated before Chief Engineer, Montgomery Scott was able to reverse the process and recreate two, separate, illogical and ineffectual leaders.

When Spock was Attacked by Pancakes

I love the original Star Trek , but due to the age of the shows, the " special effects " are not always realistic—by today's standards. That makes it OK for watching with my preschool age son, because the "scary" things are usually just funny. Our favorite "funny" episode might be, Annihilate! Me and my son laugh about it because Spock was attacked by a pancake ! You can watch it HERE ; but there may be a "warning" that it might not be suitable for younger viewers (who may have fears of being attacked by flying breakfast food)! "I'm a doctor not a short order cook! Nurse! I need a spatula!"

Live Long and Prosper

Leonard Nimoy has died. Farewell Mr. Spock .

New Director of "Star Trek 3"

New Director of "Star Trek 3" UnAssociated Press December 9, 2014 CuTRis is rumored to be the new director of Start Trek 3 . No one can as of yet confirm this rumor; but we heard it from some guy begging for money on the street so we're pretty sure it's true. Other Star Trek episodes directed by CuTRis include, Star Trek: The Next Generation "#2" .

Star Trek Today

Since my son was born, my priorities have shifted considerably. While I have always been somewhat of a Trekkie (no I don't dress up and go to conventions), due to my new priorities I don't see movies very often. I had wanted to see the Star Trek: Into Darkness movie since it came out, and only recently watched it with my wife when she bought the DVD for me for a Christmas present. I enjoyed the movie very much and was pleased with the characters and how they were portrayed. In fact, even while some things changed over time, such as the appearance of the Klingons , the original characters--though they are now played by new actors have remained very close to the original. In fact, (Pavel) Chekov still pronounces the 'W' sound like a German rather than a Russian. But maybe best of all, James T. Kirk is still reckless and a woman-chaser. Perhaps Star Trek was already diverse enough, but I find it refreshing that no one has (yet) decided to change James Kirk into...
