Who is "Driving," as the USA Heads To Election Sewer?

As the USA comes ever closer to a rematch between two presidential candidates who are both unfit, and both too self-centered to put the country ahead of their personal desires, I have to ask... "who is driving?"

While the country appears to be polarized into ridiculously extremes of liberal and conservatism, I don't believe that many people would agree, that our best and brightest are in the running for the top job.

So, how come we can't get real, quality candidates? Am I to believe that after the last shit-show of an election, the same two "grouchy old men" are still the best we've got???

So what if the elections are fair and every ballot is counted? When the only choices are bad and worse, it seems that the 2-party system has left us with once again, not choosing the best candidate for the job, but rather, the one who isn't as bad as the other one.

Out of some 332 million people in the United States of America, Joe Biden (81) and Donald Trump (77) are not the best we have. I cannot believe such an idiotic notion that they are.

So why? Who is driving? How do we stop the bus?

Mulberry Wine Bottled Today

Today I bottled the Mulberry Wine that I made on July 11, 2023. Here, with temporary labels, are the three bottles. Each was sealed differently. When I first decided to try making wine, I purchased the cheapest corker available. Therefore it takes considerable strength to use. I bottled one this way. Then, I decided to try reusing a screw top bottle. I haven't done this before, but if it works, it's so much easier! The remainder, was put into a beer bottle and I used a bottle capper. Typically, the small bottle is used as a sampler, and the large bottles are stored for years before drinking.

Who is a Loser Mayor Frey?

The mayor of Minneapolis made a joke the other day about those of us working from home turning into "losers." For the life of me, I am not seeing anything except "win" about my situation of working from home! I don't have to pay parking to work downtown, I don't have to pay extra money for gasoline, which is not only good for my bank account, but it's good for the environment too. I also have more time for my family, more personal time, and that lack of sitting in traffic means my stress level is not as high. If all of these things make me a loser, then so be it! I'm very happy.

I was interested in the Kangal dog, because they were bred to take down a wolf. But then one of "these" videos popped up and compared the two by bite force, weight, speed, and bench press ability... Really? Dogs can bench press? That was when I knew I had to make a video.

Today's Hike

I had a little bit of time to go hiking today. When I got to my hiking place, it immediately started raining. It wasn't raining too hard, so I kept going.

The creek still had ice but the water was flowing.

When I started climbing up the bluffs it was a great View.

Eventually, I got to the prairie and then I crossed that.

Then there were more trees and brambles to get through, to get to my car.

This is a bit of grapevine.

I love macro photography.

I call this place Coyote Grove. Because the first time I came here with my son we saw a coyote go in there. It is so full of brambles, that even I don't like going through it very much.

Along with seeing this giant, I saw some really huge deer tracks.

US Postal Dumbness

Here's a little game I like to play with the US Postal Service. Even though our mail from December 5th and 6th completely disappeared, and was never delivered, they have delivered and redelivered this piece of mail four times, that I've tried to Return to Sender because the person doesn't live at my house.

Start Recycling at Hmong Events!

Hey Hmong Friends and Family, I love you guys, but I would like it better if you started recycling. One Hmong funeral creates a giant dumpster full of mixed trash, including styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, glass beer bottles, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, hunks of butchered cows, pigs and chickens, and much more (all mixed together and bound for the landfill). Fifty years is long enough to learn to recycle, so please don't tell me (anymore) that you can't do it. I'm just concerned about the World we are leaving behind for our children. I know no one else will call you out on this, because they choose to ignore issues if it makes them politically uncomfortable. But I can like you, and hate that you aren't recycling simultaneously.
