My son said they're not allowed to wear hats during their school band concert, unless it is worn for religious reasons. So, I invented the sacred holiday of Flomptiken, which our family celebrates every year. It is marked by wearing hats and no pants. Since we have already made concessions to the tradition, by wearing pants, we should not be persecuted further, by not being allowed to wear our Flomptiken hats.🙂

In case you’re (selling bibles and) pushing your political agenda by preaching your warped version of religion, whether it be Jesus or something else, you should know that (per the Bible) Jesus did not hate immigrants or poor people or other races or other ethnic groups. It is a tactic to use religion, as a way of legitimizing bigotry and hatred, when you have no truthful argument or evidence. This is nothing new. But it is extremely hypocritical and it is wrong. If you want to preach hate, at least own up to it being from yourself, and don't hide behind a poor interpretation of a religion. The true path to goodness and enlightenment is directly attributable to how we treat other people--especially those different from ourselves, as well as children, the elderly, animals, the environment, our planet, and finally ourselves. I don't believe that we are born to hate. That is taught and learned. Please don't continue to teach it.

I must admit to being fascinated by Christian Apocryphal writings. They often ring true to me. What is it that those who rejected these texts found so unnerving? I like being in the middle. I like making up my own mind based on what I see, hear and experience. Don't waste too much time telling me what I should think. It's not in my nature to be led. If you see only one viewpoint and one answer, I might see ten. It's really OK, I'm not broken.

Just in case you think my "No Solicitors" sign doesn't mean you—because you don't think you are selling me anything, let me assure you that the sign almost surely means you. If you are "selling" me your political candidate, your version of religion or most anything else, this sign is certainly there for you. Don't bother putting propaganda garbage in my door either. That is another form of solicitation and it will go straight into the trash.

While filling out an online application for a technology job, I stopped when the questions about my education and experience ended and I was asked to elaborate on my Christian views and my "relationship with God." My spirituality has nothing to do with a technology job but "they" would say it has everything to do with it. I simply used the same response I received as a child when I asked church leaders why the Bible has no section dealing with the dinosaurs living on Earth. I was told I needed to have "faith." I guess that part did and still does escape me.
