Sometimes It's Plain to See

I've noticed a common theme in literature and stories that crosses most all cultures. It is one of the beautiful and virtuous girl who meets the handsome, strong, moral, wealthy young man; possibly a prince. The combination of beauty and wealth, seems to be the perfect match and what everyone strives for. However, in real life, this is not necessarily the case. Beauty, strength, and moral character are not attributes that are purely of the elite. In fact, they may be more likely to come from the common people. And even though wealth can buy power, it cannot create in one, intelligence or moral character. Furthermore, it cannot buy happiness or contentment. Wealth cannot buy true friendship. Wealth cannot buy true love. Wealth cannot buy you honor. And being born wealthy cannot teach you what it is like to succeed by hard work. And so I am proud to be of humble roots. As difficult as it sometimes is, I am happy to have had to struggle at times. Because sometimes it's plain to see, that the guy at the top is just a dipstick.
