I think unless you have your head in the sand, you will probably agree that the worst thing that could happen to the USA in the next Presidential election, is that Trump and Biden would run against each other again.
I’ll be honest, I think Donald Trump is the worst thing to ever happen to American politics. He lies constantly. He does not even seem to know what truth is. His motivations are self-serving; and his ideas are either politically incorrect, or they just don’t make any sense scientifically or logically. Plus, Trump tried to steal the Presidential election—and started casting doubt on the election process for years (before), in order to be ready in case he lost. Which he did. His followers don’t seem to care, nor do they realize that Trump could never reciprocate the same kind of loyalty he demands from his allies.
But even though Trump didn’t win, and I was glad about that, we ended up with Joe Biden. Joe is bent on idiotic policies that are going to make more people support Trump. For example, in order to combat racism, he setout to appoint someone to the Supreme Court, based exclusively on skin color and gender. There’s nothing racist about that right??? More recently, he is placing the burden of student college loans, onto tax payers—many whom either paid their own way through college, or who never went to college themselves. This is neither fair, nor does it in any way address the fact that college tuition is too high in America.
So, who should run, Kamala Harris? She’s about as likeable as Hillary Clinton. So, no. Should Mike Pence run? I watched this guy lie to the world while he was vice-president and following Donald Trump into his false reality. Perhaps Liz Cheney? Especially if she ran as an independent! Because I, for one, think both the Republicans and Democrats are full of crap!
We have (at least) two USA’s. Where I live, in a metropolitan area, not only has diversity reached my neighborhood, it is also part of my immediate family. We are just a typical, family made up of two races and cultures. There are a lot of “liberals” where we live. That means my biracial family is generally accepted where we live.
But when we leave the city and drive into rural America, we notice things change. People are more conservative. My biracial family seems to generate more “stares” from other people. If not out of hostility, at least out of curiosity. The further from populated areas, the more that seems to increase. At least I feel like it does.
So, for me, neither political party in the United States of America represents me. I definitely believe in equality. But I also think that trying to achieve diversity by excluding (or favoring) any racial group is misguided and wrong. I don’t care if the intention is good, racism in any form, even to combat racism, is still wrong. We can never have true equality under such discriminatory policies—even if the discrimination is now directed at white people. In fact, this will likely cause more people to support Trump.
And while I agree that there is a problem with wealthy Americans controlling too much of the wealth, it is simply wrong to “steal from the rich and give to the poor.” It amounts to an unfair policy of taking from working people and giving their money to other people. There is no need for responsibility. In fact, it rewards irresponsibility.
Finally, just look at the crime statistics. Vilifying police and making criminals into “victims,” has only thrown flames on race relations and allowed criminals to increase the violence—with the ability for groups like the news media and Black Lives Matter to scrutinize every police encounter, while ignoring the demographics and true numbers of who is being killed, and who is doing the killing.
It’s a long road back to the truth. Dealing recently with family, during a difficult time, it became painfully obvious that some people aren’t very nice and they enjoy attacking and causing pain. This is a horrible way to live, and I believe we can do better. I just hope we can get some better political leaders along the way. I think the two-party system probably has to go away for that to happen. It will take work to make things better, and everyone is going to have to want a better world for their children and the next generation to make it happen.
